i know that most are only connecting the front camera's rca to this unit and leaving the rear rca empty as the oem rear camera connects throught the harness, but what is this rear rca for? how would the system work if i connected a third camera to this rear rca in while the factory oem camera is still connected through the harness? just curious if its been done or tinkered with as i just might.

my goal is to be able to disable the toyota's oem backup camera when i hook up my trailer. my trailer has a natika camera on the rear of it that i manually plug into an rca near my trailer brake plug in at the rear bumper. it worked great on my old 4runner but it had an aftermarket head unit and backup camera that were rca i would simply unplug one and plug the other in when i hooked up the trailer.

 

Did you guys end up figuring this out? I get the black screen too when I switch to view the front camera. Happened most recently and I have had the camera installed for almost a year. Anybody else having this issue?

 

So I installed the new kit from anytimebackupcamera.com and 1. There is no fuse to add, is it ok? 2. The camera that came with the kit sucks - shows too narrow and too close to the truck even thought its mounted per guide.
What cameras work with this kit plug and play without having to do any mods? One that just plugs into the original female connector to the camera

I see you're having the same problem that myself and lots of other people do with the garbage camera that comes with ABC kit. You are not alone. Please check out this other backup camera thread that's been going on for a while.

A lot of it is install help, but if you scroll down to post number 916 on the last page, you can see my reply to someone else with the same problem and the camera I got to fix it .

 

I had to order Natika from Amazon which is coming today.
I wish I didnt order the camera from them and saved $$ or had an option on the website to uograde for extra $$ with photos for comparison.
People here are looking for upgrades not for shit.

 

Exactly. I'm permanently monitoring these two threads in the hopes that people will see them before wasting their hard earned money on the garbage camera that "Brian" from anytimebackup is including with his kits like I did. It seems he throws in whatever he can get cheapest and charhes the same for it, because people have reported getting different cameras with the same kit.

 

Done. Most people who install the kit dont know what they are doing, so its scary to make changes to the kit. Then they install it and realize that it can be done better :/
The camera I ordered comes with harness and its a 4 pin connection - same as anytimebacupcamera. So, I iust changed the camera and very happy with it.

 

Does anyone have the Install guide for a switch pros switched setup? I have seen it mentioned but haven’t been able to get my hands on a copy.

Do you think it would be a good idea to add multiple cameras mod to the existing kit?

First option - Switch with 3-4 front cameras (side, side, front, undercarriage) , 1 off position, and 1 rear camera? Most likely its a rotary switch, similar to a rotary headlight switch.
Second option - Add a separate switch on the dash to select from multiple front cameras 1-2-3-4? The second way, you would have 2 switches - 1 to activate front camera mode, and then second switch - to choose between views.
Since our radio only has 1 video input slot, you can't view multiple cameras at the same time. So, we have to switch between views.
Would it be possible to use a momentary switch to change between camera views?
Maybe, but then you have to add a module which is likely to be expensive and complex.
Anybody has idea about this?!

 

I could also use multiple levels of relays and triggers lol its getting crazy complicated

 

I probably went as clear as I could have been. Demos anyone have a guide for using the switchpros 9100 to control the anytime front and rear camera system?

Just a quick video on how the anytimebackupcam kit works. Hopefully, it will make you more confident connecting the kit to your Meso switch or modifying your current set up.

MESO + anytime back up camera mod.

All you do is bypass the switch by wiring a connection between GREEN and RED (12V) wire coming out of anytimebackupcam switch through our MESO switch.

Wire Functions
BLACK - Chassis Ground
RED - 12v Supply (RED wire from Override Harness ABC-28)
ORANGE - Rear Camera (ORANGE wire from Override Harness ABC-28)
GREEN - Front Camera (GREEN wire from Switching Relay ABC-RELAY)
GRAY - Illumination - (negative/ground)
BLUE - Illumination + (12v)

None of the videos I made or watched, explained on how to connect the BLUE and GRAY wire from the switch.
BLUE and GRAY wires from the switch are responsible for switch illumination (blue light on the button).
Blue is + and Gray is -
You connect the BLUE wire to the RED wire coming out of the switch.
You connect the GRAY wire to the GROUND (BLACK wire) of your switch.
