On mine the white is the guide/parking lines, cut that one first. I have no need for that. The green one, when I cut it goes from backwards to upside down and backwards. Thought I just wired something off inside the dash.

 

Your camera has to be mounted with the metal nipple pointed up and the green wire cut

 

It is. And like I said, if I cut the green wire the image flips upside down.

 

Something defective for sure then

 

Can you post a picture of the camera mounted on the grille?

 

So just an update on the wiring for the anytime front camera install on a 2020 Tacoma DCSB...

Connect all the matching color wires from the harnesses to the switch (blue to blue, gray to gray, red to red, orange to orange, black to black, green to green). Ground all the black wires. The red wire from the front camera goes to the green wires on the switch and the black is also grounded.

Everything is working great thanks to a little help from Brian at anytime.

Hopefully this will help anyone else with a 2020 having issues with the front and rear switch showing either just the front or just the rear the entire time. That was my issue before getting the updates for the wiring from Brian.

 

Anywhere to order just the rear kit? Don’t plan on running a front camera. Seems like none of them sit flush

 

So my RCA cable that goes between the harness and the camera is different than the instructional video. On one side it has a small connector that attaches to the camera along with two long red and black wires (power and ground). On the other side, it has the RCA termination that goes to the harness along with a short red wire. Can I hook this short red wire up to the green wires in the harness and then on the other end, clip the red wire and then take the black wire to ground? Will that power the camera? I was planning on running an add-a-fuse, but I would much rather power it from the harness.

 

ya the red wire from the rca goes to the greens. I didn’t put a fuse and so far so good.

 

Are the rear camera kits still available? Looks like the order link website is expired.

 

Did you get your camera installed, or get an answer for the red and black wires? I just received my kit with what sounds like the same wiring and have the same concern.

 

I spliced the red wire into the green power wire of the harness and ran the black to a ground... Worked perfectly.
