Does anyone know what wires I need to cut to disable the backlighting on the small style switch?

    * I have not tapped into the fuse box or into any factory wireharnesses

TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
Why do you want to cut the wire?

I don't like how bright the backlighting is. I think it'll look nicer without the light indicators on the switch

You could always put a resistor inline to reduce the light output.

For the backlighting did you tap into the green + and tan - from a nearby factory switch? From what ive read thats the combo that will let you dim aftermarket switches same as factory

I just got my kit and will hopefully get it installed today or tomorrow. I’ll let you know how it goes if you want to hold off on cutting any wires. Maybe just put a small piece of tape over the switch for now.

What’d you tap to get the backlighting?

I didn't tap into anything to get the backlighting. I believe the power for the light comes from the adapter that plugs into the stereo.

Got it installed yesterday and was able to get dimmable backlighting by connecting blue + and grey - from camera switch to green + and tan - on any nearby factory switch (tried both ETC and Qi switches). It was hot as hell in my garage though so i just tested this by jamming the wires into the back of the connectors. I have an ECT always-on mod and plan on splicing into that harness as a more permanent solution.

What are the blue and grey wires from your switch connected to?

Had anyone figured out how to get this kit working with an aftermarket head unit that has just a single RCA video in and a backup trigger wire? Specifically I have a Joying Android head unit.

Relay started hyper clicking (idk if thats the correct term) and now it flashes between the front and rear cameras whenever the FRONT camera is turned on. Probably a bad ground because a bad ground will cause the relay to randomly click on its own. I had a lot of fun tearing my dash apart to install this and now I gotta do it again!!!!!!!

Edit: I had this problem before and thats because I was dumb and didn't connect the ground

I am interested in this kit but I have a couple questions

Will this work with my OEM front and rear camera system?

My truck has the push button to activate the front camera temporarily, but it shuts off after I hit like 10 km/hr. How does this work with the anytime camera system?

Hey! I came across this kit on the first page of this massive thread. Looking to get the rear view only kit. I tried the link from the OP and it didn’t work. Are people still ordering from the OP? If so, where do I go to get the kit?

Looks like the trdmod domain is parked on GoDaddy; not sure if OP sold his design to someone and is collecting a royalty or what but you can find the kits over at Cali Raised LED.

I want to use the @MESO micro switch to a latching relay in order to turn on the front camera with this kit. What wire do I tap into in or to trigger the relay?
