    The other steps I didn’t list are simple pictures of how to remove the head unit. 8FBD99D2-53F7-44D4-A3FD-5C0AD6AF9040.jpg1A3D70BE-2F73-4AFB-B1BB-C3426A9FB45E.jpg41FFC473-DA19-41D4-81BD-54AE4791F4FA.jpgDAEB63BF-88B8-4CFC-98A0-1CD697A7D05C.jpg

    Did you have to pull the head unit? Is the IN1 connector with the 12v rev wire going to the head unit instead of in the drive coin tray?

    For anyone looking to be done in 20 minutes with no pain;
    Go here and buy this for $38 shipped (get the right one for your year): https://www.anytimebackupcamera.com/product-page/camera-override-dongle-28-position-1
    Buy this for $5 (2 units included) or a similar SPST: https://www.amazon.com/Terminal-Black-Round-Rocker-Switch/dp/B0057M4J4E
    YouTube how to remove the head unit if you don't know already, install the purchased harness, connect/mount the switch. Done.

    Having already invested a couple of hours in reading threads and more poking around I think it was money well spent.

    His instructions which I had to ask for, make no mention of any IN1 connector or rev wire. Other than what I posted pictures of, the rest of the instructions is how to remove head unit.

    In regards to the wiring, GZeus24 helped me out. JJ supplied instructions don't necessarily contradict what he said in the email, but it made the install slightly confusing.

    Red wire from 28 pin harness - Red 1 on switch
    Black wire from 28 pin harness - leave disconnected (could be hooked to green on switch as it provides 12v)
    Green wire on switch - 12v ACC
    Black wire on switch - ground
    Red 2 on switch - illumination

    Hope this helps anyone in need.

    Yup, factory head unit with rear camera on the screen. Literally 20 minutes work - didn't even finish a beer before I was done. Just do it in 2 steps - install the harness and test prior to closing everything up and then and test again before drilling to mount the button. I put mine on the steering wheel column. Shrink wrapping the connections is a good idea too.

    @SilverJack, I didn't even think of that. I have done it on the exterior for other things. Thanks.

    I just did this mod this weekend... Modified the pushbutton switch to white LEDs and both are lit when dahs lights on. I modded the switch to send a ground signal out to the ground side of the relay. This really simplified the wiring... 1 wire to add a fuse, cut the signal wire and wired each side to the relay then had the wire from the switch. Pleased with how it turned out, although the relay click is audible, which might be due to tucking up near the dimmer switch. 2012 O/R and the connector was as described in the previous posts. For those interested, I am attaching the modded switch. Cut through the 12v (+) trace to the 2nd (on) LED and ran a jumper wire. The switch LEDs are now fully on the illumination circuit and dim properly. The other two pins have a ground in and out.
