Just keep wheeling until you find yourself up against enough challenges that make you want to have it.
I wheeled for 2 years without mine.

    And not to forget....

If you're thinking about changing gears in the future - the best time to do that is at the same time as an ARB install. Installing an ARB requires a gear setup.

Janster is referring to the fact that your ring and pinion will need to be setup again when installing an ARB locker. This will run you the same amount of labor to remove and replace the ring and pinion with a new gear setup. ;)

On the other hand a lunch box locker like a Lock-Right will not require the disassembly of the R&P, thus does not require setting up the gears.

I found a place, well I heard the name dropped here, that can do a locker in SoCal. Yotamasters.com

I sent a mail about an air locker for my 05 2WD prerunner (nonTRD) and got this....

The ARB for your rear end runs about $875, the ARB air compressor runs about $250. The labor to setup your diff would run you $225, the labor to R&R your rear end (remove and reinstall) is $150. The install of the compressor, and mounting of the switches runs $350. Alot of our customers choose to install the compressor and switches themselves, its not hard, just quite time consuming

sounds about right, well this is added to my wish list. hope this can help anyone out there looking.

    A few bolts are different.
time consuming is damn right, it took me a full weekend to wire up and install only my OBA system. So many wires, so many hoses:goingcrazy::annoyed:

let us know how that turns out. I could go with one of these , cuz I really don't need the onboard air.(it would be nice, but not needed)

Did you do any research on them?

They have crazy on-road manners, clicking & popping....and can be dangerous in snow/ice conditions (if you have them). Do some research - I've heard of pins breaking on these types of lockers. I'm just not sure what brands have the issues.

Do some research on the AUSSIE lockers. Similar product but I've heard nothing but good reviews from.
