it seems you poor decision making could have cost your family their lives. Why would you cross a flooding wash? You wait, you don't cross it

    Haha, really?
I crossed because I knew I could and I also needed to get to higher ground, staying would have been the most dangerous in this situation. I'm assuming you have never been in a flash flood? you only wait if it's not cross able and if your in a good position, I was between two washes and still at very low ground without knowing when the rain would stop it would have been a very poor choice to wait it out! Especially when I had the expierance, knowledge and properly equipped vehicle to get through to higher ground.
I had zero doubt in my or my vehicles ability to make it safely across.
Thing can go south at any moment when offroad, decisions have to be made and made very quickly at times. This is when expierance and a propperly equipped vehicle are invaluable!
Back to my point, snorkels are about being prepaid for the worst.
Again, it's simple, if you don't want or need one don't get one!
But saying they are useless is ignorant.
I'm not trying to sway anyone one way or another, just stating my reasons for running them on my vehicles.

    thanks for your concern ;)
