Well, folks. Gone are all my lurking days on TW before owning my Tacoma. I should probably make a build thread, so I guess this is it. I've owned my pile for a year now. She is an awesome little truck. My dad bought an '04 tundra when I was 10, so I've always wanted a Toy' for myself :)

Bought a canopy. Sold it after I started disliking it. Camped in it a few times. The RTT (spoiler alert) was too tipsy when mounted on the Thule roof rack.

Duratracs and Plasti-dipped wheels. Also notice roof rack for anticipated RTT.

RTT! Drove 3.5 hrs in a snow storm for this baby. Got it really che.....I mean, budget pricing. Tough being 20 and wanting so much stuff. Damn you, TW :p

Trying it out on Sugar Lake. Buddy in the background has a family sized Eezi-Awn mounted to a custom trailer. Sweet setup, except he uses an LR4 to pull it. :)

4.88s installed. Love them! Huge difference up hills and such. Still breaking them in, so can't run them too hard.

    Locker report coming soon

Ya it is money well saved/spent. Only regret I have is not doing it myself, solely for the experience. There is nothing I haven't been able to teach myself, and this is the first time someone else touched my truck. But I seriously have no time haha. So it's better than having a 6 month project. And I have a road trip in May so......

I'm usually the same way but redoing the gears seems like something that might be relatively easy to do but it also seems like something that is easy to mess up. I was planning on having a shop do my gearing.

It's definitely more piece of mind for most, but I look at it as being able to fix the truck if something breaks. Knowing how to take apart a diff and put it back together is invaluable. Plus mine isn't a DD so it's a bit different perspective.
