Im a die hard tacoma fan but I like the way the 2015 colorados look. I did own a colorado and it was a piece of junk but i got a lot of compliments on it looks wise. But i ditched it in favor of my tacomas.

if weight is a concern, try sourcing aluminum for your armor. There are several fab shops on TW that have this option.

Thats a great idea! I love the 2.7l but im sure with a re gear and no bigger than 32s it can hold its own. Ive seen big v8 rock crawlers try their hardest to make climbs when my buddies 2.7 just crawled up it and he had 35s. But he also had 21 gears haha. I just don't see any 2.7 overland builds but its such an awesome engine.

32s are plenty, that's the biggest i want to run. As long as you stay with the overlanding theme and less rock crawling, i think the 2.7 won't let you down.

I didn't mention DCLB because down here you really don't see many of them. If there is such a thing as a "rare" Tacoma, the DCLB might be the one. Personally, I like them, but if you want to keep it in your garage, you might be out of luck.

My 03 was built like a tank it was a 2wd and i sold it for 9,000 with 170k in the odo. My moms husband just sold his 01 with 250k for 7,000. The colorado on the other hand wasn't worth anything the resale value blows.

I do like this option, what about the floor? is it rubber liner or carpet?

I can understand your opinion to some degree but for some of us who really have no need for an a/c, the d/c is the way to go as it adds more inside room and seating all-in-one. Better to have what you don't use but may need verses not having what you may need and don't have.

Im not going extreem overland but i would keep it light with one of the soft top camper shells bigger tires a small lift and lights ext. Its funny how much a stock tacoma can do!. My jeep wrangler when stock would do some insane things. Same with the stock tacoma if you know how to wheel you can do more than some lifted tacomas if they don't know what their doing.

I remember when the first ipod color came out i saved up all my money and was so happy i got one just to find out a week later they came out with the ipod video for the same price. Its just one of those things newer and better options will always come out and make our purchases feel regretted.

I've got a little 96 with the xtracab, no back doors, but I've got small flip down back seats over two little storage boxes. It works for me. I can fit five little people in my truck, and everyone in my family is little, so it works for me. I love it.

Well, I have a 2010 Access Cab with gray interior, and I'd trade my rear seats, seat belts, headrests, and panels even up for the utility option to anyone who could accomplish the swap cleanly on both ends, no cash required.
