Looks good. Price seems high but probably right. All the caps I looked at were $2000

Thats what I'm saying.. If they are that good than I guess it's money well spent. Just a big purchase with no feedback.

    how much was your cap?

$2,800. Where else can you get a 1 bedroom apartment for that kind of money and take it with you

My brother is very happy with almost every aspect of his, the only problem is a leak in the side door seals. They have tried a couple of times to repair it with no luck.

    A few....
I have the same leak with an ARE. Both in the front of the bed and at the door/tailgate seals. I haven't worked on it much yet, but plan too over the weekend. I think some weather stripping and silicone may help, but it would be nice if it was sealed. I don't know if this truck will seal 100%, but other topper from ARE I have owned sure did.

I hope this one will...and if anyone has a way to make it water tight...please share it. Thank you.

I know im going to get shited on for saying this but I never had a cap/tonneau that was 100% waterproof:crapstorm: in the tailgate and windows especially when its a super heavy downpour, I had tried all the tail gate type seals everything. although in 10 seconds there will be someone saying mines 1000% waterproof

Love my Overland Series ARE Cap . Would certainly buy it again. No leaks.
Made sure that the large uneven factory gaps in the front of the tacoma box where the fender sides meet. Were filled and sealed before the canopy was mounted on the truck. Dry as a bone.

there are gaps and holes in the truck bed itself (nothing to do with cap) that will inevitably allow water to come in. 100% waterproof is kinda a myth, imo.

If you intend to put some weight up on the bars, go for the HD. That's what I did. I run a rtt and get me and the wife up there, we need the HD set up.

i was leaning more toward the HD series.
did you brother get the side doors painted or is that a vinyl?
did you upgrade your rear springs?

Do you have any issues with that ARE bar setup? My main concern is the fixed mounting point.
