Have a 18 TRD OR with tech package and the side view mirrors are not auto dimming if I’m not mistaken. Only the rear view mirror is. It is very blinding driving down the freeway at night with cars LED headlights shining into my eyes the whole drive home. I feel like on a 40k truck this should be standard.

are there any fixes for this? I’m not looking into replacing my whole mirror as I’d like to keep the truck stock. Maybe a tint to put over it? Or am I overlooking a setting?

Did you just assume this truck had that feature before dropping 40k?

I had auto dimming side mirrors on my 2015 subaru legacy and holy SHIT it's nice. My new 2019 kia does not and it makes me sad.

If you tint your side windows to 20% it helps with all of that plus more!

Yeah no kidding. I see some nicer cars and their headlights have almost zero glare and put out some real light on the road ahead of them. It's a shame car manufacturers aren't held to a slightly higher standard.

I'm not even sure who to blame, the car manufacturers or aftermarket "upgrades" from third-parties who convince people they need them without any consideration to other drivers on the roads.

Cars are expensive enough. Stop trying to add more regulations and requirements. Shit costs money that’s ultimately passed to the consumer.

Hey don't knock it until you try it. I used to think all the luxuries in a car were stupid and unnecessary until I got them (push to start, auto climate control, dimming mirrors, etc). Now I love them.

I'll pay some extra money for better headlights and to not be blinded.

I mean, I think not blinding other drivers would kinda be a cool requirement. Lane departure, dynamic cruise control, even TPMS who gives a F those dont need to be requirements... But yeah I like not being blinded

Where you driving when aftermarket HID kits first came out? every fucking tuner with their shit honda had them in bright ass blue or fairy purple... and no one aimed them, and they all put them in reflector housings. Driving at night was a gamble on whether you would be able to use your mirrors.
