5100's, ome dakar leafs and ome coils, problem solver tie rods, eazycompany ditch light brackets and auxbeam osram 4" led pods, 2014 4runner wheels, 265/70/17 goodyear authority tires, soon to have 50" led bar on roof
So I just got this truck 2 weeks ago (2000 toyota tacoma prerunner v6 auto)and ordered new 5100 bilstiens for the front and rear. but my question is as follows:
    1. Are the rear leaf springs shot? I do have a snug top on the rear of the truck. Which measures at 35" at center of wheel well with 31/10.5/15's on the truck right now and the front measures 36" exactly..
    2. What does the color on the front coils mean? both sides have same markings...
    3. If the rear springs are bad what are the best springs to get as I would like to raise the front end 2" and have it level in the rear, I very rarely tow but want to be able to in the future 3-4 times a year with a small camp trailer, I have a couple of bicycles that we like to ride off road once in a while and I go out to the desert to go rabbit shooting and just driving around hunting for nice pictures to take...20160126_222142.jpg 20160126_222142.jpg 20160126_222213.jpg 20160126_222328.jpg 20160126_222227.jpg

Those leafs are pretty tired for sure. A lot of people around here recommend OME dakars from what I've seen. Can't help with the markings on the front coils though.

the Dakars will give you 2 inches "over stock height" so take that into account. otherwise you can get www.generalspringkc.com heavy duty for stock height and it will sit higher than it does now.

20160111_100056.jpg So do you think if I got those Dakars that with the camper shell and lifting the front end 2" it would be close to level? Would I need new brake lines and such also? sry only picture so far of my truck getting tires changed over from old truck..

Honestly it would probably sit just a little bit shorter than your pic with it on the lift. That's how mine sat with just an add a leaf until the springs settled. You might have a slight amount of rake, but I doubt much if anything at all.

the only advice i think that is needed. get your frame treated for rust and rust protection a.s.a.p. it's not bad right now. but that's right now. could get worse very quickly if left alone.

wouldn't worry about everything else. just get them changed as soon as you can after treating your frame.

I haven't checked if my truck is on recall yet or not for the frame and also how much would it cost for the rust prevention on average? Hope this picture helps out some tyvm for all the responses...1453962885259-693106765.jpg

I dig my Dakars + AAL and had a good amount of rake when I installed them. They've settled since. The Dakars alone should be able to do the trick for your needs. Extend your brake line for peace of mind.

so you think if I put the front 5100s at 2" in the front and these in the rear it will be all most level? was looking at the all pro's also as its on sale right now but 3" of lift... just looked at your build trowbocop and love the way your rig looks... gratz on the engagement by the way..when you had the regular shell on the truck was it with the add a leafs in the rear or not?

As for the frame recall youre past the time frame. Besides the 2000 years models got bought back and crushed!! No bueno!

If you lifr the front 2" with the 5100's i too would recomend the dakars without AAL for the rear. They claim 2.25" over stock and right now you are squatted way past stock so itll seem like its been lifted much more. So as frizzman stated take that into account when figuring your ride height. With a camper on there itll definitely settle them springs out a bit. Now when u say camper shell, you mean the shell thats on there now? If so, itll set almost level with the dakars, therell be a slight rake im sure. If you end up needing more in the future just slap the AAL's in the spring packs that OME offers just for the dakars and youre good to go!

Yeah those leafs look pretty tired. Like said the Dakars would be a good option.

That camper I refer to is the camper shell that's on it right now. If I recall correctly for the front end if I lift it more then 3" then I will need UCA's correct? I really only want no more then 2" of lift over stock at most but want to be level also.. So I will order the Dakars then and the new bolts for it anything else I need? also you mentioned rake which I don't want... so do I need to put the front struts at a different height?? ty for the responses also

Yeeup, those leaf packs look done. Would definitely replace them- would definitely help bring the back end up.

Thanks @thumper72! You're correct, I had the aals installed in the leaf pack when I ordered them. Up front had OME Nitrocharger sports and 881s as well. You'll have a good bit of rake if you have the aals initially. As bry838 said, getting the Dakars, and if that doesn't seem to do the full trick, toss the aals in whenever isn't a bad plan. But if you plan to keep your camping gear in there below the bed platform- or constant load in there, like I did, the aals ride great.

Cool I purchased the dakars and the bolts and bushings and bolts and brake lines for it and will update as soon as I get them installed, I'm going to install the rears first so I know how high to set the fronts with the stock springs.. does anyone know the height of a stock prerunner at the wheel wells so I know how much my truck is sagging?

um wondering something so please help.. I forgot to get new bolts for the leaf springs but got new ubolts but what I'm wondering about is the rear brake proportioning valve relocation kit. . Do I need one to complete the job? I don't want to monkey rig it. I need to know asap. As I'm about to rip the truck apart in the morning.. If so then I need to call my buddy to let him know I wont be doing it tomorrow so don't come by to help out on it yet. Also cancel a appointment for the struts to be done...tyvm

I would use one, but if you can just make one. Its just a piece of steel and 4 holes drilled into it. Make it as long as your lift is high...

Do you have to? As I will order it and do so today but can I drive it without it for a few days. Without doing anything right now so I can get lift on???
