I think we have the same truck with the same wheels and tires... 1d210f6ce204e38a702f613a63b71398_4ea6ef20ca88e129eb9ccd20036fab58d2fb2457.jpg

I've got a tonneau that I love but daydream about a cap.

We do indeed!! Ordered a cap yesterday though...so mine should look a little different in several weeks!

I love that 4Runner wheel. I think it's the best wheel Toyota has ever put out.

Anyone know for certain if the WinDoor with Slider Windows is available for an ARE cap on a shortbed?

    A.R.E. is saying "No".

A.R.E is saying "No"? or the dealer or what? The DCSB is pretty a common option.... I know using the "building your own" you can get the sportsman windows, which is what you are asking about.

The public relations guy at A.R.E. confirmed to me that the side WinDoor is not available with an integrated slider window on the shortbed caps.

WTH! this is the exact one I wanted, EXACT! (except MGM) same configuration and everything but I was told it would be over 2K, he told me for the money all I could afford was the CX, with my military discount and that cost me $1,736 for the same exact configuration in a CX! You got a great deal, I'm envious, but I'll still get a good topper, just wish I could have got the one I wanted instead of the one I could afford. You got a better version and still beat my price:cheers:.
Now, if it would just come in.. was told 2 weeks, now we are waiting to find out if I have to wait another week.
    congrats, great looking truck!

Okay man, here's the deal. I'm one of those guys who believes everything is negotiable. I got this topper quoted out and they came back with $2250! I tried to talk them down, asked for a military discount (I'm active), referenced this price, and just about everything else up my sleeve to bring the price down. They wouldn't budge. They referenced a book from ARE and said that the price is from ARE and there's no room for negotiation. These seems like a load of crap to me. So how the hell did you get that price? Was the first quote you received $2k+

Also, how's it working out for you. Any complaints?

    Thanks @Tucker73

I'm with DeTako, I ended up getting the CX without the rino lining, when I asked about the price difference to include the quote saying they saved me more than the military discount ($30) I asked how much the military discount was because he told me original cost was $1760 and they let me have it for $1730, when asked that question he got his book and calculator out, then proceeded to tell me my topper was $2290 and there isn't a "% per say " for MD and they saved me a lot. I found that a little weird because usually a military discount is like 10%, but to have a discount where you can't give an answer is a little bit seedy. I had another dealer tell me (when checking out possible price differences) they require a 50% deposit and if cancel delivery, for any reason, you loose that because that is what they have tied up in the topper. what that told me is the 50% is the cost of the topper and everything above that is dealer profit (I'm sure a small part is delivery), that would also explain the huge price differences depending on where you live. But its just a guess, especially considering resale is roughly 50% of cost no matter how old (or new) it is.
But, I have my topper and I'm happy. It is what it is and I got what I wanted.

Im a bit late to the party here...here was my quote and i live 10minutes away from where ARE caps are manufactured.

    -Overland cap 1689.00
    -front tilt down slider 90.00
    -interior carpet 140.00
    -single led ropelight
    w/dome 110.00
    -standard sliding sides -0-
    -standard single lock door -0-

    Total 2029.00

    w/ some coupon and tax
    out the door at $2085.90

Cap would be installed on the truck in 7-10 days

Problem is i wont be ordering till January and they told me there they are raising the price of fiberglass 10-15%. So there will be a price increase when i actually order in January...which sucks.

Does anyone have a picture of the A.R.E Overlander with full Line-X? My dealer quoted me with the full coating price by accident and told me it would be $200 less for just the stripe. I have an MGM OR SB and wonder how it would look.

    Military Discount.
A.R.E. does not offer any. The contact person told me it is up to each dealer.

And finding a good dealer depends on where you live.

Military discount would save on taxes here in Norfolk Virginia. We are a huge military area and that's all the dealer could do. Even asked about Weather Tech mats and they could only get them for the price online. Seems like WT and ARE set their prices and the dealers can't go under that price.

I understand dealers set the price. My dealer said he is 10% less than ARE said. Salesman talk!
