If you want cheap-go buy a Chrysler product. These trucks as well as all Toyota products hold their value extremely well.

I really wish Tacoma would have added leather to the 2012. I think that would have definitely raised the value. Maybe its just me because i hate cloth seats lol. But yah even the First gens hold value ridiculously well, My uncle said i should look at first gens because he thought they were cheaper and wouldnt require a loan, he was wrong lol he couldnt find a nice one with 4wd in his area for cheaper then i think 10K

You are not comparing apples to apples. The truck linked is 4X4 and TRD Sport. Yours is an SR5 Prerunner.

Is it going to sprout a transfer case and hood scoop too?

Again, your truck isn't the same model as the one linked.

Yepp its really surprising how well they hold there value, Some cars that are 04 arent even selling for 5000, Yet the tacoma could easily be sold in great condition for around 18-19K

    That isn't too bad...I paid $26k for a 2008 DCLB 4x4 with 62k on the clock.

    And it's the base model.

Originally not Expo AF! Kinda Expo AF now...lame.
I'll say this with all honesty coming from a viewpoint of having owned 2 Tacomas myself.

KBB is never really that accurate, cash in hand is the only real value of a vehicle.

Also, keep in mind that price you see on a dealer's site is including their markup, which is usually pretty significant. Used cars tend to have more markup in them than new, so they can haggle more.

With that said, it goes without saying the person trading in the vehicle wasn't offered the price you see it for sale for, more likely $3000 or so less as a rule of thumb, even after some haggling on the seller's part.

Now don't get me wrong, they do hold their value incredibly well, i'll share with you what mine was after trades and years.

First Tacoma = 2006 DC SB base model.
    Paid New $24000.00 in 2005.
Traded in (Paid off) value @ $13500 in 2011.

Bought TRD Sport 4x2 DC SB pretty loaded @ $28,500 in March 2011.
Traded August at Dealer for $24,500.

Dealer was a personal friend and they pushed their buyers hard to get that price I got for mine.

Selling it myself would be more hassle but I bet I could have got more money.

All told, buying a brand new car and dumping it 6 months later is always financially awful, and only losing $4000 isn't that bad.

    It isn't that good either....

They can price them however they want to, hoping some idiot will come around and just buy it. I bought mine used and their listing price was more than a brand new one. I pretty much told them this, and said if you can't save me 4-5k off a brand new one then let's not waste each others time.

It's all about having all the numbers before you even go to look at a vehicle, and never being afraid to walk away.

I wasn't trying to make any comparisons. I was just stating that I did not pay anything remotely close to this for mine brand new, having to be ordered. And YES, it is going to sprout a SKEWP.
