Arizona Peace Trail!!!

Im out unfortunately. Hopefully Ill be around for the BDR trip.

 

Inbetween work. Able to get my State Trust land permit. Saved to phone.

Anyone have a write up and more pics? Looks like a neat trail to go after.

 

Im gonna do a pic dump in a minute. It was pretty dusty and were going at a decent pace so there wasn't a lot of picture taking.

 

Yea, we were moving pretty decent paced. We only probably did 1/8 of the actual trail. There is so much to it. Plus all the off shoots to explore. Theres a ton more.

 

So glad to have been able to meet up with you guys and catch up. Looks like everyone made it back home safe and sound. I think all of our air filters are probably in the trash by now.

 

it would be, but seems Flagstaff is out of mine.

 

And thats why i changed my filter before and after.

 

I'll do a fairly thorough write-up in the next few days, but I didn't get as many pictures as I normally do as it was windy, very dusty, and we were all moving along quite rapidly, but I'll still do it.

 

Here's my loos interpretation and crappy cell pic's.
It was a miracle but i was earlier/on time. Apparently dateland is fancey. I saw some high dollar jeeps and Raptor's.
Once everyone showed up we were off to the first stop to air down.
I was somewhere in the middle of the pack.

We stoped by a big hill . I think it was a pee break. Probably me holding things up.


Or we might have missed a turn .... it all worked out in the end.

The desert really is awesome. Im always amazed at how much the landscape changes.

We made it to solome.i clocked about 111 miles we got gas and mades to to a camp site a little was down the road. It had a cool rock formation and a fireplace ish.

We all know who had the coolest tent that night.


Actually everyone had a sweet setup. Sorry i didn't get everyone's camp.

I got to try out my new shell for the first time


Everyone ate and hung around the fire for a bit. I believe there was a dubble fire for a bit. It was kinda cold. I was tire and went to bed early.
Sorry i didn't get better or more pic's the first day. I was to busy driving and looking around.

So day two.. was definitely going to have a little more excitement than day one. And day one was pretty fun.
So this would be my view for most of day 2. Id like to add that a mostly stock Tacoma is pretty damn capable,especially with a good driver.i was impressed.



And then we drove through a choia feild.




So im not gonna lie i definitely have mixed feelings about choia. They hurt like hell and are supper annoying when they get you. I believe there called the jumping cactus. But they do have a certain beauty when seen in the correct light. And that light is a Arizona sunset they will glow like gold. And seeing a whole field of them glowing gold and a pink and purple sunset will make a lasting impression on a young boy for a very long time.
I digress.
More tacoma.

So we were slowly making our way towards the mountains and the trail was starting to show.


Not much to do but press on.




So around the corner from this picture we pretty much go up the side a mountain and the down the other. I didn't get a chance to get the going up but i got some of the going down.
