    I was shop foreman before I moved on to production of gas turbines.
    anything pre 2000 I would be willing to help with.
    Convertible tops, custom upholstery, foggy rear windows.
    I know this does't apply to alot of us here on tacomaworld with our trucks but maybe I can lend a hand with other vehicles.

    how long are the convertible tops supposed to last on a BMW? we replaced ours after like 6 years. thought they were supposed to last atleast 10.
    and just saw anything before 2000 my bad haha. its on 04

    6 yrs is pretty good. Is it tearing around the quarters or just the foggy rear?

    actually neither. the top itself is perfect since day one. i meant replaced the motor.

    There's a thing called "planned obsolesence"
    The factory "pre plans" things to go wrong so you take your car to the dealer and have it fixed.
    Headliners, motors, upholstery, fogged plastic rear windows.

    regardless. 6 years is pretty good on a motor.
    10 yrs would have been nice. I have seen scissor top caddy motors go 40 yrs.
