This is something I've only experienced building a 4x4. I've been building cars of various types for a long time.

This happens across multiple vendors. Maybe they can chime in say why?

I'll be emailing back and forth no problem. I'm ready to hand over my cc number but as soon as I ask for leadtime I get no response.

I can start up the conversation again with 3-4 questions (one of them status) and all questions will get answered except the leadtime will get skipped over.

Is it some sort of taboo to ask vendors how long things will take? I don't care if it's 4-5 weeks. I just want to know.

I think the problem is it often isnt 4-5 weeks it can be much longer. I have seen 13 -16 week lead times on here and on websites.

Most armor builders openly state lead time on their websites.

Not sure why anyone would hide that info unless they're shady fuckers.
