    Hi Eveyone;

    Recently purchased a 2020 Limited and totally love it! I'm getting a 5000 lb travel trailer and the dealer has told me I have the towing package in the truck but there's no mention about a transmission fluid cooler in the package. Does anyone know if it's not needed or was I misinformed by the dealer. Thanks very much!

    A thread around here mentions that Toyota deemed the trans cooler unnecessary for the newer models.

    That being said, ANOTHER thread has an upgraded trans cooler. I'll see if I can find both.

    Edit: do you know what a trans cooler looks like ? Look behind your grill and if you have a smaller cooler (looks like a mini radiator, in front of your radiator)

    Missing trans cooler thread with updated info about not "requiring" https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/missing-transmission-cooler.671079/

    Upgraded trans cooler. I'm certain more threads exist, and possibly better coolers? This one seems to work well and is much larger at cooling and fluid volume. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-transmission-cooler-upgrade.482280/

    Finally, check out the towing section of tacomaworld. Plenty of good stuff from measuring tongue weight, distribution and hitches, braking, suspension, etc for towing.

    There is a thread on here discussing how the newer 2020’s don’t have an external cooler in front of the radiator. I guess it uses the main radiator or something. My 2020 built in Nov 2019 does have an external cooler. I personally would not pull a 5K trailer with the Tacoma. By the time you add water and other stuff it adds up fast. Just me though, good luck.

    Agreed. That would be pushing the GCWR of 11360 unless you were the only one in the truck and everything was empty. Truck at 4445lbs dry and empty. Add fluids, people, weight distribution hitch, tongue weight, and fill the bed. Then add water to your tanks, propane bottles, and food and gear to the trailer. That's pretty heavy. I wouldn't want to do that very far even if you are in spec. It would probably pull, but it would be a long trip I think.

    I took delivery on my 2020 Limited in Houston late in March. It has a ATF cooler in front of the radiator. The funny thing about that is the this component isn't listed in the dealer's towing package. When I went in for first 5k service I asked them to look it up in their system. It's not listed.
