OK, this is going to sound like a stupid question, but I'm not sure what speed the tranny is. Does "D" count as 5th gear?

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
"D" counts as drive, therefore automatic shifting.

2009 TRD Sport means 5 speed. A number of companies make Toyota WS compatible fluid, including Amsoil. Just make sure the bottle says Toyota WS.

Thanks buddy. Yea valvoline max life says WS but based on all the paranoia surrounding this subject I'm still hesitant to use anything other than Toyota.......

I suggest running Amsoil Severe Gear in your diffs too. I think it even made the locker work a little better.

I'm running Valvoline Maxlife with 12 ounces of Red Lubegard. Very happy with this.

I was hesitant to switch out of WS also. Did first flush with WS and when prices did not go down when the 2nd flush was due, I got mad at Toyota and switched to Valvoline MaxLife. Use it on all our Toyota products - 07 Taco, 07 Lexus ES350, 07 Corolla, and 06 Camry. All are shifting normal. The Lexus has the most miles with MaxLife, about 70K miles.

Running Valvoline Maxlife as well. Did my first flush at 70k miles and plan to do the second one around 130K. I'm at 107k miles currently.

Another vote for Valvoline Maxlife. Flushed at about 117k miles and now have 134k miles and it runs great! Seems to shift better, but that may be that the original owner probably never changed the fluid before and the transmission just likes new fluid.
