To be honest the lock you can fit on one of these things isn't going to be huge anyways so it's more of a deterrent to a more honest person and to keep people from playing with it so if a thief wants it he will get it, there's really no stopping that.

I've only ever had one small lock on mine and that was just to keep people from playing with it when they are hanging out around the truck.

The foot is actually sitting on the wheel well bucket so there shouldn't be any weight issues.

Since the mount isn't secured on the bottom, is it able to be pulled up enough to slide the lock off??

    Thanks Danny!

The mount is very solid with no flex in it whatsoever. If you felt the need you could drill a hole in the mount and run the cable through the hole. It's more of a deterrent than anything.

I do also like the hole in the post because it will keep the wing nut from working its way loose.

I don't want to take anything away from ATO but I use a Quick First for my shovel. Order a couple of the custom extra bed rail nuts from ATO and you are good to go.

P.S. Thanks for the gun lock idea to help lock up the Hi-Lift

your welcome.... i was planing on putting the Quick Fist clamps on the high lift mounts. i would take out the stud and put quick fists on the top and center pieces to hold a shovel and axe.
