Only once has the Nocco failed on me, and that’s because we were festival camping using it to charge phones at night while solar charging during the day. Someone next to us need to jump his van, it turned over once and then no more. I have used it basically weekly to start the riding mower for a couple years. The Nocco gb40 has been so good, I bought a bigger one to carry in my truck and left the 40 in wife ride. May have to get another now we have a 3rd vehicle

I calculated about 10,500mAh. It looks like it ran for about 4.5 hours at 2amps. Then another hour at 1.5 amps. Either way it seems about half the rated capacity which seems like a problem.

You’re right, I took your X axis as minutes instead of hours, I should have zoomed in and looked closer.
I think the problem is most of the specs on these Chinese jump start batteries is BS. Your test is valid and likely typical of what we will get for the sizes of these things.
When you tried to crank your mower it turned over but did not fire, is that correct? And you tried multiple times for a minute? Did you let the battery cool between attempts?

One time for about a minute and it was at 0%, then I plugged it into charge and it read 87% right away.

Going to return it and try again? I have the NOCO. The first time it was used it took 3 tries for it to work. The video I linked in the sale thread was pretty convincing. I at least thought it was more scientific and factual than the typical Amazon reviews.

I don’t think any of these lithium ion jump starters should be run more than 5 seconds at a time when jumping a car, since they’re running way above continuous ratings and into max pulse ratings. With a minute or two to cool down between each attempt. If your lawnmower was turning over but not starting it’s a problem with your mower not your jump starter.
My jump starter has a 3 second limit with a 1 minute cool down for each start attempt, and this makes sense to prevent overheating and cell damage.
The Audew instructions I looked at had no starting attempt duration for jump starting specified, that borders on a criminal omission imho. It does at least specify a 2 minute interval between multiple start attempts. Absolutely none of these Chinese specs are right from the tests I’ve seen, they won’t supply 1000A much less 2000A. Here’s a good tear down video:

Here’s a NOCO GB40 tear down, that sure is a small battery pack compared to other jump starter tear downs on YouTube:

I bought a NexPow when it was on sale for like $37. After about 9 months and zero usage, the battery was showing at the 25% mark (only has 0%, 25%, 50% and 100% LEDs). I really liked that it has a physical on/off switch, but I have about zero confidence in it. I need someone to jump start so I can test it...

Using my gb40 to charge my iPhone. Phone was at 30% when I started gb had full power. These little things are junk I will go back to a regular jumper pack soon I just have no confidence in these. Phone now at 95%. 549A7A13-37C5-46B4-85FC-DBB3BCCE6E89.jpg

Like I said before, based on the Amazon reviews even the NOCO has about the same failure rate as the cheap “Chinese” brands.

This is my second one. I wanna like it but how many do you have to go through to get a decent one? No way I can I can put this in my wife’s car and feel good about they just don’t seem to work.

Some may question your choice in phone. But being a smart phone and Apple I've heard lots of charging stories. My friends are always complaining about needing new chargers because their phone sucks power..

I have one that I keep jumping our riding lawnmower and subby outback. Works well enough I got another to keep in my truck and leave this one in wife’s ride.

Since y'all brought this back to the top I just checked the Audew pack. It's been in my truck with Rollercoaster temps from 30-80F. It's reading 94%.

I’ll try charging up some other stuff just in case but I don’t expect it to be any different. A lot of people seem really happy with this style of jumper tons of good reviews but I’m not
not even going to touch phone choice lol. Once it’s back up to 100% I’ll charge up a few other things just to make sure but I’m going to venture a guess that the results will be the same.

That might shorten its overall life. Lithium ion batteries are not exactly known for their durability when it comes to temperature extremes. Sounds like it’s holding good so far. Have you tested it at all yet?

The Noco I have is in the same atmosphere and still shows full charge. I haven't used the Audew again since initial testing.
