I need Jack Allen's to bring back their Deep fried beef rib dammit.

 

My house, but I'm partial. Smoked some spatchcocked chickens and ribs for the neighbors yesterday, and they love me...



As Costco brisket has finally moved south of $4/pound, I have one in the fridge, and will be smoking it some time this week.

I know that doesn't answer your question, but I rarely visit bbq places anymore, as the prices are a turnoff.

 

The missus and I went to the new one on 1431 Friday, and ol' Jack was there, standing at a table with some of his peeps. Three comments:

1. Jack is shorter than I thought he would be.
2. 1/2 price appetizers during happy hour are a steal. Great food, even better prices.
3. The service at Jack's is fantastic, even more so when the boss is there, with his head on a swivel.

Yum!

 

I don't have enough imagination to think of you not finishing something.

 

Ok, so if I have family visiting in a few weeks, hands down best place for bbq here in the greater Austin area is….??

 

No no, let's not go that route. Let's instead focus on what part of town you'll be in, and narrow the choices down appropriately.

What you can plan to do it go to the Oasis and mock its prices and quality. Sunsets are cool, but they aren't THAT cool.

 

Didn't we used to go to car shows out there?

On that topic, is TTC still a thing? I'm thinking of scraping the sticker off the Tundy and the 40, and replacing it with this:



That might get me out of a ticket or two.

All seltzer tastes like ass. Like the alcoholic water version of IPAs. I do not understand the appeal.

Human achievement peaked at the milk chocolate stout.

 

Agreed about Styles, it's only popular because that was a shooting location from the movie Dazed and Confused.

Interstellar BBQ off 620 is really good. Haven't went since the Top 50 came out. Used to be able to just walk up but heard the lines are long now.

 

agreed. Really good, but also haven't been in a LONG time.

 

Yeah they have been sub par for food a loooooong time but great for drinks at sunset and walk around to take pictures.

 

It's only a thing if you believe it's a thing
