Maybe I'm good with my current setup. Gears are too expensive.

Also probably shouldn't make that many permanent modifications while in a loan.

Dirty Threes with cab mount chop ought to be pretty soon for ya? Can always sell the ones you have for a good price on CL.

Saw a lifted white 2nd gen driving north on Manchaca south of Slaughter this morning with a camper shell, rear bumper with tire swing, pelfreybilt and Seahawks stickers. Was driving with a built 3rd gen 4Runner - seemed like they were caravanning.

    Anybody on here?

It's definitely possible. Big cost for a 1" bigger tire, that's the only thing holding me back.

The way I see it is..If you plan on keeping the truck long after it paid off.

Then screw it, do what you want....Be happy!

That's been the plan for every car I've ever bought...but given the amount of cars I've owned I think I'm bad at sticking to that plan.

so there is an RCI group buy feeler thread in that section... and im gonna get in on this. Considering an IFS, transmission, and transfer case skid. Is it worth considering the gas tank, rear differential, and LCA skids too? My truck use will be wheeling but also overlanding/expo/camping... this is not my daily driver.

Not a fan of diff skids. For the gas tank, it's super easy to just cut a plate and weld it to the existing tank. I think LCA skids are more for looks...

Does he make them or order the RCI ones to a local address? I have been reading about 1/4" aluminum, 3/16" steel, and the strong 1/4" plate (BAMF) style skids. I am leaning to the 3/16" steel so I can not worry as much when at HF.

Awesome. Gas tank skid makes sense.
