Can someone explain to me about the Auto LSD function and how it works and what it works for best? I super new to this truck lifestyle so I want to know more about the little features I have.

It utilizes the brakes to simulate a limited slip differential by applying brake to the wheel it senses is slipping.

So is it almost the same as lockers?

Not really. I think that the e locker only engages in 4lo and auto LSD disengages in 4lo. Meaning auto lsd is mostly for street driving and trying to maintain stability for safety reasons, where as a locker is to prevent you from losing power to your wheels.

I was told not to use it for street driving, use it for off-roading or through mud/snow... Isn't it when one wheel is spinning turn it on and it puts brakes on the slipping wheel and then puts power to the wheel with greater traction...

I'm pretty sure it's normally on. Try driving through a puddle at 20mph and you'll feel the truck slow down on its own and only on the side that the puddle is on.

    It’s similar, yes.
For the majority of people, it’s more than sufficient for anything they’ll encounter. People who are rock crawling will still want true lockers.

you can use it on road or off. It comes in handy in the snow. It only does something when it senses wheel slip

Turning it on just makes it more aggressive, it's always on. And it doesn't work like a locker so it's fine to run on the street.

Please don't give answers if you don't know...
The standard mode is called TRAC and is electronic limited slip using engine regulation and brakes to prevent tire spin.

The Auto LSD is a 2WD traction aid that turns off the engine output regulation so there is no throttle-cut. Full power goes to the traction tire while brake force is applied to the spinning tire when TRAC isn't strong enough.

You use Auto LSD to move from a stop when tire spin makes that difficult.

To activate AUTO LSD, press quickly the VSC OFF button. To return to the standard TRAC mode, press the button again or restart the truck. The VSC turns off to 30 mph.

FWIW, I got my best 0-60 times with Auto LSD. No engine regulation didn't cut revs when a wheel slipped. TRAC Off was worse with no braking. 4Hi was too bogged down.

In semi-normal driving, I use Auto LSD to drift some wet corners that I know well.

IMHO after learning the system, use on pavement is fine for me. Off road, I'm going to 4Hi / 4Lo (esp with the MT) before I even think about Auto LSD for the reason that spreading the torque to both diffs / all wheels is better than loading / unloading one diff, esp on washboard / rutted climbs.

The key here is learning the system even it if takes a bit of experimenting in controlled conditions (mallcrawling).
