Has anyone else had trouble with their transmission fuild getting low and shifting really rough.

I know this is long after the fact...occasionally mine does shift hard, but it slips if I come to a stop sign. I did find a Castrol product that claim to be equivalent but it didn't work well for me. My whole issue began when I changed out the radiator and I cannot seem to get the transmission cooler line attached to where it won't leak.
