So I have an 06' D-Cab TRD Sport Prerunner with about 84k on it. Over the past few weeks I have noticed that my trans seems to be shifting a bit harder from gear to gear. I serviced the trans at 70k so I wouldn't think it would be that. Any ideas out there? I have had a few suggestions as far as maybe a torque converter or the u-joints? Thanks in advance.

Oh, and does anyone know if the lights behind the thermo/fan in the dash below the radio are service-able? Half of it just went out the other day.

Who or how did you service the transmission?

These trannies are supposed to be good till 100k miles or so.

I would look at your warrantee - just for shits/giggles. Some warrantees can go as far as 5 years and maybe 100k miles.

How'd you change your transmission fluid? I thought this was a closed system.

My buddy is a mechanic by trade, he has this neat power flushing system put out by "BG" that did it. He did mention that it was a 100k service, but I bought it at 70k and it was just one of the things I wanted done at the time. I like to take the reccomendations from the factory and upgrade them a bit. I realize I may be being a bit too careful as far as fluid changes but I would rather waste a few bucks here and there by changing them too often than have stretched them too far and broken/ruined something. (I grew up in a mopar family, I still have sepressed memories that pop up once in a while)
