Auto Wash Your Bestop ?

Owners of Bestop Supertops, do you take your truck through touchless car washes - the type where the vehicle sits still and a carrage moves front to back spraying cleaners and water? What have you observed? What is the condition of your top now?

 

That's what I was talking about, no brushes, no felt strips, just jets of water.

 

I ran a softopper through it with no issues. I'd be leery of all the windows on the bestop, though.

 

Ive taken mine in about 4 times. Didnt notice anything bad.

 

Thanks for the constructive feedback, I'll likely run it through once or twice to see how it effects it, besides thats about the best my suuuuuuper lazy ass can do.

 

I don't think it's going to hurt the top (I had one on my Tacoma before I traded it in) but I always hand-washed. Those tops can take a beating and if you installed it correctly, a touch-less car wash will hardly be an issue.

 

Thanks for the input, I was just a little concerned about the windows because I hear they scratch very easy.

 

If I have the widows out I will take it through, no problems here

 

never do carwashes. but I have taken a pressure washer to it many times

 

When I had mine I used to take it through the auto wash at least once a week for a year. Never showed any signs of damage from it.

I do suggest using 303 Aerospace protectant on the material. Helps retain the color (no sun fading) since it has a sunscreen built in.

 

I take it to car washes with pressure washes. I don't see any damage, but then again my windows are all scratched up from mother nature. lol

 

Yep - Great stuff.

 

FYI, the windows are going to get scratched anyway. Flying debris, even large particle dust, hitting your windows as you drive will mar these windows. Don't sweat it too much--it'll still look good as long as someone doesn't take a knife to the damn thing.

 

If anyone is around San Diego and needs new windows for a long bed let me know I have a new set taking up space in the garage I want to sell
