    Go for it

My design is much simpler though. Plus if it's going to be an aftermarket part it has to be something that your average joe can bolt on in his garage.

yeah sorry, I bought a truck, not a sports car.

you're right, if you plan on doing timed slaloms, you should keep it,. but then, you should own an x-runner too, no? I went from a mercedes car to a truck, I ditched any hope of it handling like a car the second I got the truck.

I think people haven't removed their sway bar to think it makes such a huge difference. Most probably talk from theory and not actually removing it.

Also, maybe on stock suspension it makes a big difference, but on aftermarket suspension, I really don't see much difference without the bar, high speed maneuver or not.. I have 33" tires, the tires will likely be the flaw waaaay before the sway bar.

canada toyota 4wd association, not "my" club, I'm part of the admins.

there is only a Calgary division currently, but still close to 100 members with trail runs twice a month (sometimes over 20 trucks)

    sorry I'm off topic.

Sure you can do without the sway bar if you're willing to sacrafice some on road performance, but if you could have both great road handling/ safety and off road performance in the same vehicle why would you sacrifice?

I bought my Tacoma because the criteria that my vehicle needed is paradoxical in most trucks: Good Efficiency AND Great off-road performance. If you can have it all, why not?

A buddy of mine has an '08 Jeep Rubicon that came from the factory with a sway-bar disconnect button in it. I've never actually looked at the setup, but he said it works quite well. You should look into it for your concept.

I'd love to take your money, but development hasn't even hit the shop floor yet. Could be awhile on this one while we're working on a few other products.

$1400?? I came across the same exact assembly that is pictured (sway bar and automatic disconnect) for about $125 bucks, shipped, 1 year ago. This was ordered from the dealer, beleive it or not.

I'm wondering if you could modify the jeep unit to work with the tacoma sway bar. I have a sway bar I'm willing to donate for the cause. It has just been collecting dust in the garage for a while now. Pretty much brand new.

Give me a couple and I'll find it. I believe it was on jeep forums some time last year. My buddy and I were thinking about putting the same one on his TJ, but never got around to it. I could believe how inexpensive it was..

Here you go, sir. All the information you would need to know about the Jeep Automatic Disconnect.

    http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f140/how-put-2007-jk-electric-swaybar-your-yj-writeup-pics-367045/

EDIT: Shit. Well after looking at that thread for the first time in ages, it appears that the price Jeep has listed for there automatic disconnect was wrong! You are right, Paul. The new price is in the $1400 dollar range. I knew I should have bought a couple of those bastards@! I'm going to have to go smoke a cigarette and kick my self in the ass now. (the price they were selling it at was $125 when I was last quoted!)
