Yep. I think someone F'ed up pretty bad on the pricing and it was circulated throughout the parts catalog. Unfortunately someone eventually caught the error.

That's exactly what happened. It's almost as well known as the Charlie Wenzel incident .

Bump for the sake of ... a good solution.

After changing out my front diff - thought about the mechanism that is used on the front end to engage the front driver's side axle and the vacuum actuator. I should really just dump the bar all together. After all I drive my truck like a grandmother.

Yeah, Mopar products have had this for a few years. My pops has an '06 Ram Power Wagon with the disconnects (and a factory 12,000lb warn winch). Basically, it disconnects the left side from the right side in the middle and allows the sides to articulate indpendent of each other. Then, when you hit the switch again, it locks them back up. I'm sure with a little bit of ingenuity you could retrofit the Mopar system onto our trucks.

Another idea is what the jeep guys do where they install disconnects on the swaybar extensions that drop down to the axle. These systems are manual and use large pins and cotter pins to hold it together when they're on-road.

yeah, it's got this stupid button, kinda like the toggle for 2/4wd on the tacos, and it gets bumped pretty easily, and if you happen to do a few things just right before you notice it, you can be turning around a corner and your truck will pretty much roll over it sways so far. it's definately not safe driving on road with the bars disconnected. also it takes like half hour to get it just right so it'll reconnect. putting it in n and backing up and driving foreward till it clicks in.

    You guys are jerks :p

I had mine removed for the last couple months so I haven't really done much with the disconnect idea. after installing the shackle flip though, the truck is just way too wobbly. So I put it back on. And magically I have found time to put into this again ;)

cool idea, but sounds like it could get expensive. A manual disconnect maybe? I pulled the sway bar off over a year ago and haven't looked back.
