Aux Fuse Panel

Hey folks, does anybody in the Seattle/Bellevue area have an aux fuse box I could come take a look at and annoy with some questions? I want to take my wiring game to the next level.

 

Throw in a six pack and you will get a ton of help. Lol.

 

Lol, right? I'm not ready to tackle the project just yet. I just want to take some notes for when I have a spare weekend.

 

I do. I can give a lot of pointers too (mostly things I've since learned/I wish I had done from the beginning)

I'm working on getting my RTMR finished on my tundra. Just waiting for switches and summer so I can wash all the mud off and get under it to run wires to the back.
I'd personally say just bite the bullet and get a RTMR if 5 fused circuits and 5 relay circuits is enough for you. It looked cleaner than just a Blue Sea/Bussmann fuse block.

 

I'm in Seattle (Madison Park area) if you wanted to peek at mine. I've done all my own electrical work. I have a random Amazon switch panel/fuse/relay box, another fuse block wired in, winch power to the front and back of the truck, and power to the truck bed. A lot of other electrical stuff is hidden away. I'm happy to help and answer any questions you may have. Can help you install something if needed.

I'm in Spokane now, but did a ton of research on this before I put in my Blue Sea Aux box along with my dual battery setup. You don't want to use those terminal splitter things directly on the battery. Too much risk. Just run everything from the aux box. The only thing that should also be connected directly to the terminals is a winch if you have one. Also, if you have a dual battery setup, the winch should also be connected to the main/ startup battery. This seems counter intuitive, but I had numerous long convos with Matt owner of Off-Grid Engineering. Non sponsored plug- he makes what are easily the best, made in USA, machined dual battery setups for Tacomas. However, I would also HIGHLY recommend that you wire in an Anderson quick disconnect inline for the winch. I leave it disconnected unless using it to prevent parasitic draw. Happy to talk for hours about about this with you on a video/ facetime call and can walk you through my setup in detail via video. I don't have any friends in Spokane yet and have two young kids, so seriously, I'm VERY happy to help.

 

Haha, I don't have a winch, or dual battery set up. Just a slight itch to tidy up some wiring. I have an HID set up with halos, 2 aux light bars, a 4 horn set up thats connected to the battery and an amp stuff is messy I currently have a bus bar set up for the grounds but figured I might as well do an aux fuse box.

 

Also, once I get to doing all of this I'd be happy to give you a call

I went with a Trigger bluetooth unit 'cos lazy.

Oh they've been replaced already, older pic. Battery was getting old (still the OEM) and did it all at the same time (along with beefier retention mechanism).
