So a few questions for those that have this...

    Does this thing actually work?
Are there any issues anyone has found (increased hiss, or any other audio abnormalies)?

:eek:I just installed Sound Shocker in my 2011. Best solution to low volume on aux input for mp3. It works GREAT! I was ready to replace stock radio. Found on line. Best value for $30.00. Got for 25.00 with instant coupon. Get one now.

The sound shocker really works I recommend it. It took my iPod to the same sound level as my fm radio. Just plug and play no power hook ups or batteries. :)

Just received my Sound Shocker, and it works well. For a gizmo that needs no power, it definitely increased the volume of my mp3 player when plugged into the aux in. Now it's usable, before it was not. The Sound Shocker Pro, which is what I bought, is bigger than I thought, about 2/3 the size of a deck of cards--about as thick but smaller in length in width. Comes with one 3.5 cable.

Before I bought the Sound Shocker I googled it and my search led me to two other forums much like TacomaWorld, one for Land Rover and one for Mercedez. They seem to have the same issue with low volume from the aux in. Also found a forum entry by the maker of the Sound Shocker explaining why his gizmo works. Basically, the aux in is designed for "line-in" impedance, not headphone impedance which is what is coming out of any mp3 player or laptop or smart phone. His Sound Shocker changes the impedance so that it agrees with what the aux in needs. (That's as much as I know....)

So that begs the question: What do these car manufacturers think we are plugging into the aux in? The things that put out a line-out signal are things like a home stereo CD player or a DVD player or even an old phonograph preamp. What do they think we are carrying around in our vehicles?? Dumb twits.

Had to replace the connector cord/retractable one that came with Sound Shocker. Went to Radio Shack and got 1foot 1/8inch connector male patch cord. Works better than thin cord, which broke.

Sorry to bring an old thread to life.
I am looking for two things for my Tacoma original stereo setup: An aux bluetooth adapter, and a sound booster for the aux input. I barely hear anything when driving on the freeway.
It would be awesome if I find something that combines both.
    Thanks.
