AVEC Lighting (Mikevee)- Poor service and experience

Update:

Purchase/shipping:
-Buyer sentPayPal 2.23.15
-Seller stated (on 2.23.15) he would ship, the mudflaps and Dome LED, 2.25.15
-Buyer inquired about tracking # (2.26.15)
-Seller stated he hasn't sent them yet (couldn't find a box), will send 2.27.15
-Buyer inquired about tracking # (2.28.15)
-Seller stated (3.1.15) he "doesn't have access to company tracking site"
-Seller didn't ship until 3.2.15, tracking provided on 3.2.15,
-Buyer received package 3.7.15

Upon Buyer opening package:
-Seller Provided greasy mud flaps
-Seller did poor packaging that damaged the product(s)
-Seller didn't provide the LED dome light that he stated he would

After providing feedback to seller:
-Seller stated he was sorry and would provide a "goodie package" (on 3.8.15)
-Buyer sent message on 3.17.15, inquiring about "goodie package" status
-No response from Seller as of 3.23.15
-Buyer created Vendor Feedback thread
-Seller again apologized and stated he sent "$50 of LEDs" (3.23.15)
-Buyer yet to receive the LEDs as of 3.31.15
-Seller responded 4.2.15, stating to "give it a few more days and if you don't hear anything and let me know."
-Buyer followed up 4.7.15 to confirm no package has arrived. No response.
-Buyer followed up again 4.9.15 to confirm no package has arrived. No response.
-Buyer followed up again 4.13.15 to confirm no package has arrived.

At this risk of being banned, I decided to post a few thoughts on this. The OP does have a right to complain, but this was not the place.

First, where was the original post of the mud flaps? Did the OP create a WTB post, or did the seller create a FS post? I am assuming this was in the First Gen Parts for Sale section. If so this was a transaction that was clearly between two individuals, not an individual and a vendor.

Two, if the transaction resulted from a post in the For Sale section, then the complaint should have been posted in the "stickied" Beware post of the For Sale section. This is a stickied post in the for sale section for jilted members to complain and prospective buyers to review, before carrying out a transaction with an individual.

Three, if the seller offered to provide "goodies" to appease the buyer due to complaints of the item that was sold, then any goodies are merely provided by an individual, not the vendor of the goodies. If it had been a member other than Mikevee, would the OP have written a review in the Vendor review section for the selling member or the vendor of the products that was offered? I would have thought complaints would have gone in the buyer beware sticky, or the original post that was the initiation of the transaction.

Sorry if this post causes any issues. This has been a long thread that will probably never end. The buyer will probably not receive what was offered, the seller will probably not answer, nor have further communications with the buyer, and a vendor name has a mark against it due to a totally unrelated transaction. This was just a bad case of a personal transaction that went wrong in which both parties feel jilted. It is a shame that this happened, but it has gotten to a stalemate which most of us will just continue to read for the entertainment factor.

 

I agree with Peerunner and BRS, poor form shown by the OP for posting this in the vendor section.

Real simple to understand: Mikevee/AVEC said numerous things and his actions didn't reflect what he committed to.

This will never end.... OP just chill out and let it go. Seriously give Mike time. He is a busy guy and sometimes things can get caught up in the system. I have had no bad experiences with Mike and he is a solid guy to buy from. So don't get your jimmies all rustled up.

This was not a sale between you and AVEC Lighting for products that you purposely purchased from AVEC Lighting. You purchased a used item from an individual. Thus a vendor review was not warranted. Additionally, I provided Mikevee/AVEC his money promptly on 2.23.15. Next week will be 2 months since then. He has had plenty of time to make this right (if he is indeed, the "solid" guy you all claim him to be).

I did read and fully understand and still disagree with continuously grouping Mike and Avec like they are one in the same and that you are 100% in the wrong for posting your review in the vendor section. I'm not saying you aren't right to be mad or having made your post, but Mike's actions on a private sale do not reflect on Avec as a company.

Thanks PeeRunner, I even stated that I was not trying to be an azzhat. I feel that the OP is just seeing red everytime he reads a reply on this post and is not truly reading what is being explained.


OP, I never said that I disagreed with you either. I stated that you did have the right to make a complaint. I do realize that you wanted people to be aware of what has happened, and wanted the situation righted. The only thing I stated was that this is the vendor review section, where folks who have transactions for goods with a vendor can post positive or negative reviews. In this case your vendor review was truly not a vendor review. You had a transaction with an individual for an item that he personally sold. I merely stated that it should have been in the original post(to which you provided a link), or in the beware post stickied in the for sale section(to which I provided a link). This would be no different than posting a question for a Second Gen Tacoma in the First Gen section or vice versa. At that point the moderators would either move the post to the correct forum or remove it due to the OP also posting it in the correct forum.

I am in no way affiliated with Mikevee, AVEC Lighting, or any other vendor on this forum. I was just a TW member that read the post and felt that the forum had not been used for the purpose it was created. I had sent my thoughts to the moderator before posting and did not receive a positive or negative response either way. That being said, I am done posting. It is your situation for you to handle. Hopefully it gets worked out so that you are satisfied.

 

File a PayPal claim. Move on with mud flaps you'll get refunded for and don't buy from Mikevee again.
