The reason it's layed out that way, id that on some pioneer head units, there is a black filter box on the yellow power wire. coming out of that box is another ground. So they are saying take both black wires to ground and the yellow to constant.

I'll see if I can dig up a pic

Interesting.. But I wonder the electrical reasoning behind that though..

Basically the filter needs power and ground too, so there is a ground that runs through it, as well as a ground for the radio.

Don't ground the yellow wire. Just ground the black wire. It's a bad diagram, it supposed to be 2 seperate wires splitting off.

Pioneer stopped using these, but it looks like they probably just use a standard diagram for wiring, and they left that in.

I am gonna just run the yellow to constant cause I am pretty sure I dont have that box thing. Ill snap some pics at lunch and Ill post up what I have.

What I think I am gonna do is run them normal and run that yellow to constant like McJosh's HU is setup and not worry about that black box line

^ correct. Only hook up the yellow wire(s) to power and black to ground. If you are looking to bypass the unit, put a switch between the light green wire and ground and the switch will act as your parking brake. If you hook up a yellow wire to ground you're gonna blow a fuse.

I actually bought a relay setup for the unit so I dont have to deal with the toggle. But I wanna get it wired right b4 I go adding stuff to it. 1 step at a time :D

I had this exact HU a while back... I do NOT remember doing it like this... if you run the positive current and hook it straight to the ground, would that not cause a short? path of least resistance, i'm thinking it would just blow a fuse. I say just hook yellow to +12v and be done with it. I'm almost sure actualy that you would blow something.
