I've been drooling over a pair of Mall-crawling bolt-on Avid sliders for awhile. Is there a realistic and affordable way of making them slip-resistant? I'll be using them as a high step, and with all the slimy clay mud we have here, I've found myself to slip and crash even on the WeatherTech DigitalFits when entering the vehicle.

    Spray-on bed liner?
    Rynolined?

How do these hold up to wear and impact, how easy are they to touch-up, or what other materials could I use?

3M makes adhesive tapes that have a sandpaper like texture. You can also try rubber tape.
    Bedliner would work too.

I rolled Herculiner bed protect-ant on my Avids (very gritty) but didn't care for the glossy color so I sprayed under coating over that. Nice and rough, the way I like it.:D
