Should get my Avids in the next week or so too. I am flipping back and forth between a satin black rattle can job or having them powder coated. Rattle cans will cost about $25 and powder coating is $175 in my area. Doing it myself is cheaper and can be touched up easily but powder coating will look better and last longer. What to do...

i line x'ed my light bar, and no problems, its super thick, and if anything flies up and hits it you dont have to worry. I think its worth the money to protect the steel, plus since there not sliders but step rails its not likely they will get damged on rocks or anything that could ruin the line x.

When I get my Avid light bar and side steps I'm getting both done with Line-x.

are they the bolt on step sliders, or actual sliders? if you plan on actually using them for their intended purpose I'd rattlecan them, easy touch up and you won't dishing out over a hundred dollars on something made to get beat up.

I had powdercoating done on my front bar and it was the coating on my nerf bars. Two years in chicago salt winters and they were rotting away from rust. Got weld on sliders and had them line-x'd. Was so impressed with the line-x material I had my front bar done in it too. I dont want to waste my time every summer sanding and re-coating. In weather conditions like we have line-x is the cheaper and easier way to go in the long run
