I have an 05 tacoma that had an after market radio in it.

I wanted to upgrade to a double din unit.

I installed everything and added an axxess interface so I could use the factory steering wheel controls. The radio works great but the steering wheel controls do nothing. The interface unit does not even light up. It lights up for a second when I pull the 3.5 mm cable halfway out, but then it goes dark when I insert it all the way back in.

I'm having the same issue, I just put in a Kenwood DDin, wired the ASWC-1 the way Axxess states, and how 3 your tube videos state.. and nothing. i barely get a blinking light.
I tapped into the 3 wire plug, wired the red to the power on the harness, from the plug to the ground. and the other 2 into the harness for the ASWC. nothing.

I figured out my problem. I had wired mine wrong. The directions were a little unclear. In the first step of the directions, it said to hook two wires to chassis ground. I thought that those two wires were just supposed to be connected to each other because one was already grounded. I had to disconnect those two wires and then ground them both to the truck. Everything has worked perfectly since then.

A question. When listening mp3 in a USB stick, apart.from changing tracks, does it changes music folders too? Or just tracks?thanks

I haven’t tried mp3’s on a usb. I primarily use my apple music from my phone that is hooked up with apple car play. When using apple music, the up/down arrow buttons just change the track.

Got mine fixed too. My deck had an input for the idatalink and I figured it could go there. But I had to wire up the brown 3.5. like a champ now.
