**NO MORE MOTORCYCLE EMISSIONS UPDATE 3/13/13**

I just got off the phone with Chris Burke, the Vehicle Emission Program Manager for the state of Arizona. He is THE guy that implements the emission policies for the state of Arizona. I called him to get the update on the motorcycle emissions testing in the Phoenix area. We have all heard the rumors for years that this was coming, yet we continue to get notices to emission test our bikes... me included. I asked him where this law stands, and why/when this law will finally take affect. He says the law must be posted on the Federal registry before he can act on it, and then he has 60 days to implement the new rules. He told me he was expecting the post yesterday, or today, thus allowing him to start the 60-day "countdown". Sounds like anyone with testing required for the next 30 days would be smart to do it if the bike will pass easily, but those that have to re-tune to test, might be best to stall re-registration and pay the late fee of $8 the first month, and $4 each month after until it goes into effect. You can also get a 30-day temp tag from ServiceAZ.com to make you legal in the meantime if you plan on riding it. Figured I would pass on the good news - Dave from The Helmet Center.

Thanks and Ive been waiting for an opportunity to get it dirty! It needs some exhaust work though because the original owner didn't have his custom exhaust put on properly. Taking it in tomorrow to get it fixed.

In the mean time I am trying to make fishing pole bed rail mount and I am looking for t-slot nuts that apparently fit perfectly in our rails according to this thread: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/114001-bed-rails-attachments.html

If anybody knows where I can find them in the area let me know. I have tried home depot, lowes, ace, fastenal, various small hardware stores, thanks.

 

I have those nuts and a little stronger bolt. Got them with my high lift jack mounts from relentless fabrication. He is on here. Pm him to see where he gets them from. Or try sdhq offroad in gilbert.
