    Per the DMV..
    When Your Vehicle Becomes Salvage

Sometimes cars that have been stripped, damaged in an accident, or waterlogged don't get a second chance―but sometimes they do! It depends on whether your insurance company considers it financially prudent to revive the car or just send it to the junkyard. If it goes with the latter, the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) will certify the automobile as "salvage," deeming it unfit for use on the road. It will be issued a new title branded with the term Salvage.

So what I make of this is the only way for you to get a salvage title from doing this mod is,
    1. You chop the mounts
    2. you call your insurance company to inspect the "damage"
    you just performed.
    3. Your insurance company says the "damage" you did to it would
cost more than your truck is worth.
    4. They would either total your truck, or give it a salvage title and
before they will insure it again it will have to pass a level III inspection,
    5. then you would get a restored salvage title for your truck.

Just my interpretation from a quick read at DOT's sit and the AZ
    MVD site

    Seatbelt Chime!!!
I just got a Double Cab 2008 Tacoma TRD Off Road. I have already done the disable seat belt chime mod, and soon to put some leds in the 4x4 switch, cupholders, and make the bed light up with the parking/reverse lights. I used to have a jeep grand cherokee in flagstaff and I could never see behind me with dark tinting! Anyone in AZ know of some good places to play around in the desert, down by Tuscon or Ft. Huachuca? (mainly where border patrol wont bother you) Thanks!

Ya, sand was super thick. I had it in 2wd and got stuck too! Had it locked and in 4x just to get him out and we were both smoking tread.

Badlifeguard - We were at lower sycamore creek by Bush Hwy/Saguaro Lake!

The sand got real thick the further down we went. Once you slowed down or stopped, you were screwed! Glad I had 4x4 and locked or we would still be diggin! Didn't get a lot of pics but we started on a trail that lead to upper sycamore but it started getting tight and looked pretty long so we'll save it for next time!
