Jerry, I saw this bumper a while back, but it's only made for big trucks, granted, all of this would be heavy on a Tacoma but you get the general idea of where I'm heading with a bumper. Notice how the areas in front of the wheels do not angle up as steeply as the off road bumpers do, other features i like is how far out from the trucks grill that the bumper is (not how far in front of the headlights though), this bumper was faced with diamond plate and then rhino-coated.

THIS, is a BAMF bumper folks!

That's hideous!!! Just sayin. If that's what your into more power to you but not something I'd sport on my rig!

There is a reason for bumper angles on aftermarket bumpers. I know that at least ARB bars are designed to deflect any object that is struck away from the vehicle and occupants. Either the object (roo, deer, human) will be thrown up and away from the bar after impact or thrown under the vehicle.

There are design features that i like, the off road bumpers everyone puts on there trucks are too pretty, too sculpted, this is more squared off, I'm not sayin this is the exact design i like, i think this one is TOO squared off, it looks like it belongs on a semi, but I'm not building a rock crawler, with the freeway miles i drive, i'm more likely to hit another vehicle than I would ever hit a rock.

Yeha that bumper would not look good on your truck. If you want a big boxy mad Max bumper we can do something way better then that. The problem with bix bumpers like that on a Tacoma is weight with all that steel and $$$ more steel = more $$$

At some point i will get some cardboard and start mocking up design elements that i'm looking for, it's more of the function than the form here.

I have the trial, I am not very good with it though but I know what it is capable of:D

I had a site bookmarked that had a full version at a "student discount" price but my computer has since crashed.

Here is a hint though: The trial is 30-day but any time you want to use it after 30 days you can just set your computers date back:D

Also, I heard that Autodesk is coming out with free inventor type software called 123D or something like that

Also, sweet bender. I built mine using the Got Trikes plans. I suggest an air-over-hydro conversion. You can get the ram at harbor freight cheap

Yeah the Trail was glitchy on my computer so I ordered the full version. It's vary powerful but I can't use it for shit I need to sit down for a good week for figure everything out.

I'm getting bend tech as well but the Alibre is awesome for the sheet metal/pate steel. i started designing a new BBQ/Smoker for shits and giggles this program is pretty cool i just need to play with it more.
