    Zip ties win races....

You need to get the OCD zip tie quick release mount ( make them purple too)

So for the CO2 mount, whats your game plan?

I have mine mounted in the prerunner with just a holder. Works pretty well. I can't decide if I want to do something with just a normal tank holder permanently bolted in or break out the quick fists and have them mount to the track.

    here's a thread I found while back.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/show-me-your-co2-mounting-solutions.445953/

Those seat covers look pretty money. few weeks ago I dumped a entire cup of coffee in the passenger seat those would have come in handy lol.

Being as that I got a 20lb big dawg, I don't think it's fistable in a safe manner. I'd probably want to fab up some kind of mount and attach it in a better way, I'm not sure. I just don't really trust those side rails for much... I also want it to be flexible as far as where i mount it, depending on my camping load. I also want to mount it to my crawler on those trips. Cages make it so easy to mount other stuff...

I'll def look through that thread, thanks Bro-migo

$$$$$$ indeed...they better work well for the price. Wifey likes seat heaters in any weather, and the extra lumbar is nice too. Since I plan to keep it awhile, I figured it would be a good investment, especially after I catapulted the hot-sauced eggs all over my seat the other morning...

Took a little trip to the desert this weekend. Went to see a little amateur drift event in Apple Valley before heading out to explore Landers to Joshua Tree. Detoured over to Pappy and Harriet's in Pioneertown to check it out and grab a drink or two while observing the melting pot of local drunks, desert rats, families and hipsters going to/from Joshua Tree. Booked it out of there to make it over to the Old Dale Mining area that's surrounded by Joshua Tree before dusk. Slammed rear bumpstops all the way down the road to a spot we decided to pull out the pew pew and got off a few shots before dark. Wandered around and found a little spot on a rise to settle in for the night. Found out my rear tire somehow got a leak, so...that's cool. Wife is taking it in to Americas tire to get a patch/replacement today hopefully. Had the most still, calm, quiet, perfect temp night in the desert i've probably ever had. Just slept on the cots in the open.

Woke up early and booked it back to Johnson Valley where I pulled my front end apart to do some tuning/ride height adjustment with Andrew from AccuTune. Only dropped my truck off the bottle jacks twice :censored:. Note to self....the floor jack I said would be too much of a hassle, would indeed not have been a hassle at all compared to getting your truck back up off the rotors and fixing the backing plates...FML. Bumped the front up another inch or so...so I'm at about 2" total over stock I believe, and put in AccuTune's custom base tune for my truck. Man, what a difference over the stock Fox valving. Front end doesn't pack up or blow through travel nearly as easily anymore, stays up and soaks things up pretty damn well, all things considered. My rear is definitely the problem now...Just nowhere near enough spring rate for any kind of high speed fun, let alone any kind of load in the bed. Looks like I'll be going to a new leaf pack soon. Andrew said we could add compression damping to the rears, but that won't do a lot when I load the bed up.

All in all, pretty good time out in the dirt this weekend.

Awesome man looks like a solid trip. Pioneer town is pretty cool.

Having the truck fall of the jacks sounds great lol.

Hows the rubbing now that you changed the ride height in the front ?

Ya, nothing makes you feel more like an idiot than dropping your truck on the ground with a bunch of people around....2.5 times. All seems fine, so...oh well. Oh yeah, and I forgot how to work on trucks, so I ended up buggering my uniball adapter by hammering directly on it and having to crossthread the nut back on to drive home, so....trying to get a new one from Icon now.

Still rub, just not as much, still think I may need some new rims to pull the tire in a little more so it doesnt, otherwise im going to really have to do some surgery front and rear. Rear rubs on most articulation and pops my fender flare off, so I need to trim that flare lip off and maybe the fender lip itself too... How does yours do, does it rub ever? We have the same setup basically...

Good news is the wife took my truck in yesterday and they're getting me a replacement for the rear leak, it's on the sidewall. Going to get the thing re-aligned on thursday as well, hopefully.

haha sounds like a great weekend.... cross threading is organic locktite.

Solid on the new tire. I always just take my chances and go without the certificates.

Mine only rubs the inner fender plastic and pinch weld at bump and when wheel is turned in front and in the back remember I have that sick as fuck 2 inch lift block so... no rubbing there. I would says just get new springs first. See where ride height is before you go getting crazy with the tin snips on your new truck... remember this isn't a shitty Toyota pick up.....

You probably just need a snorkel to help with rubbing.

Too true, I forget how to work on nice things, I only work on hack things normally. I guess some altitude could help, I just figured the location when it stuffs won't change, but...it's helped the front end, so...why not.

I OBVIOUSLY didn't build my truck to be able to wheel enough to need a snorkel, I need to log a few more dirt miles a week before that achievement is unlocked and I can buy it in the store.

It's not bad, but a bit too bitter. Better than their alternatives.

It's not the inner fenders that are even the problem, the fender flares rub pretty good and the fender lips too. Ill figure it out someday

Cruised up and hit Pismo this weekend for a buddy's birthday. First time really going there since college. It was cool, but all the new tech bullshit and nannies on these trucks makes it really suck to drive around out there. I can't manually shift the trans, so that just kept making me fall flat on my face trying to bomb around out there. Only way I could drive was in 4hi the whole time, with the locker on. Whatever, still fun. Fender rubbing was again annoying as shit, really need to solve that issue, and soon. Surprised at how fast I could bomb with this setup, even in some light whoops, just floated through thanks to my AccuTune shocks. Now I just need a little more ride height and spring rate in the rear, plus a little more compression, sooooo I bought a U-bolt flip kit with super bumps from Archive Garage so I can install my used Icon AAL pack to try before I go buy a complete pack. Regardless, had a great time, had fun raging with my buddies, and remembered that I'm old and can't drink like we did in college...

Yup, he came out for a minute and made us all look silly... Just about everyone in that group either works at or worked for PolyPerformance/Synergy so he cruised out to mob around.

Non Taco update.... Headed out to Johnson Valley for New Years with my crawler after doing minimal prep. Lost 2 tires and ripped a shock tower off the front. Looking to 3 link the front of it now...

Back to taco things... Ordered up a flipkit from Archive Garage with the superbumps. Installed a used Icon 3 leaf AAL pack from another buddy as well, keeping my overload. My buddy from AccuTune came over at the end of the install and we did some measuring... Looks like I can run the Tundra 2.5s on my truck without issue, save for my pocketbook hurting. With the new setup, I will still have about an inch of shock shaft showing when I'm metal to metal, so I can run an inch longer bodied shock to get back some of the droop I lost. The thing still only has like 3.5" of uptravel, so it's a little like lipstick on a pig until I change things up a good amount. Seems to ride similarly, nothing too different feeling, but is a little better through the neighborhood oil pan smacking dip I use for suspension "testing". Truck is a tad rear high again, which is alright.

Took a trip up to Santiago Peak, only took a few tries: Denied in Corona at Skyline road entrance (Didn't know about the one off the 15), denied at Holy Jim, denied at Harding truck trail, and finally made it in off of Maple Springs Road. Bumpy as hell, no need for 4x4, but some cool views and nice to just get out there, plus saw a sweet military rig by Harding.
