Has anyone did a mod to keep the back up camera from getting mud/slush/rain on it, which obstructs the view?

I have been using that mod, but I was wondering about maybe a mini windshield wiper, or some sort of deflector so it doesn't get spray kicked up while driving. I know out of all the people on this board that someone has thought about or tried something.

It would be the smallest windshield wiper known to man.

    So true

Installing it is fun, but you can't go back to stock if you mess it up

I wouldn't be surprised if some high-end vehicles had something like this. Probably not that difficult to do. Designing a mechanism that would continue to function when dirty might be the biggest challenge.

I may have to try the RainX first though.

For now, just giv'er a wipe before you drive. Would be awesome if the camera was retractable and covered while driving.

WheatherTech Side Window Deflector, Satoshi Grill, T Rex Eyelids, Matt123 Skid Black stamped, Modded Maglite with Maglite mod for driver seat, Bed extender. Full debadging
That's the mod I got... get's pretty noisy though, specially when it rains. My problem is seeing the floor behind me when the tailgate is down and the bed extender deployed:notsure:. Anyone got a mod for that?

Someone once routed a hose and nozzle from the windshield washer system to the backup camera. However, the fluid would leak out when the tailgate is down, because the nozzle became lower than the reservoir. To do it properly, you'd need a high pressure system transplanted from a European car's headlights.

Just a quick finger swipe seems to do the trick.
