This is what I'd like to do one day. Also there are a select few gps that have a monitor input on them. They also sell small monitors that resemble gps that you could mount somewhere.

Hi Ryan, quick question...so you used the stock camera with your aftermarket Head Unit and used rca cables with a cat 5 and secured them with tape, is that correct? if so, where did you find the cable running back from the bed to the stock mirror to re-route it to the new HU?

Mirror came in today. Old mirror off, new mirror on, pulled pigtail from headliner, plugged in and voila. It's just that easy.

Just so you know if you guys have 2009-10 models yes they did come with cameras. I work at a Toyota dealership and saw that in those 2 years they all had them. I believe Toyota made a mistake when they placed the order for the handles, so they just put cameras in all of them. Its a benefit really as through parts they are really expensive so consider it a blessing. I myself am waiting for one to be traded in without the monitor so I can complete my setup as I have a 2011. Just an fyi.....;)

Do you have to remove the console in the headliner or can you fish it out from the front of head liner

I have the back-up camera in the tailgate and it works fine with the mirror monitor. I would like to connect it to my new after market head unit that has a RCA camera connection. Then I can have a larger screen to see it better without my glasses. It is a bitch to get old! Has anyone done this, if so, do you have any ideas or the best and easiest way to do this. If I get another camera it is another $200 and then I will need to run a new wire to the head unit. I would also have 2 cameras, which is really redundant.

Just fish it. Two fingers, front of headliner.
