Very easy. Panel surrounding the head unit held in by clips. Pull from passenger side first. Then headunit is held in with 10mm bolts x4. I’m betting someone has a picture write up if you search it out.

Just ordered a harness from anytimebackupcamera.com to attempt this on the wifes rav4 with a ch4x4 switch. Anyone have any luck finding the illumination +/- to use on the switch backlighting?

It also helps if you're pulling a stump and need to take up slack in a chain, rope, etc. Sometimes when your help is calling out distance their internal tape measure is not 100% accurate.

Is there any way to do this mod without cutting the sensor wire? From what understand in this thread, I can ether wire a SPDT switch in the path of the wire or wire a diode in the sensor path and use a SPST switch. Either way, the sensor wire gets cut right? Is there a 3rd option that doesn't require cutting besides buying an expensive harness?

Where did you get your harness? All I can find is a harness for a front and back camera that's north of $100.

He is no longer selling them.. A wiring harness is easy enough to make though. Does anyone happen to know the part numbers for the male and female ends for the harness and maybe where to get them? The wires, coupler ends and a diode are cheap enough. I'd guess it would only cost like $10 for everything.

    Holy old thread batman.

Has anyone hooked this up via a switch panel? I have recently acquired a rooftop tent and can't see bung out my rear window anymore. Was thinking of doing this via the switch panel.

I’ve read through this whole thread and it’s left me more confused than when I began. I’m buying the anytime back up camera harness and using a CH4x4 switch. What’s all this about diodes? Do I need one? Does the anytime harness already have one? Please help me understand.
