Bad Clunk When Turning Please Read

    That bolt that you tightened retains the power steering rack in place and uses some bushings to isolate the rack from the frame. Those bushings have many voids in them and in time it doesn't matter if the bolt is tight or not, you will have somewhere close to 1/4 slop movement between left to right steering wheel movements. The real solution is to go polyurethane. Of course I'm not practicing what I preach because I haven't done it yet myself, but am noticing because of all the slop that it always throws my alignments off. I need to do them, but they aren't a very easy task to replace.

    Use window weld in the power steering rack bushings? It's an old trick to stiffin factory motor mounts without buying new poly bushings.
