That stretch of Gene Snyder Freeway (I-265) near Billtown Road is considered one of the deadliest intersections in the state. Lots of high speed wrecks.

I’m not super familiar with the area. Only thing I ever go out that way for is pull a part and when I had to drive out to the sticks halfway between lville and cincy to get my trans/t case.

Sad stuff. Article doesn't confirm but I'm guessing he wasn't wearing his seat belt.

Sounds like he wasn't. It's been hushed up for some reason.

It's roughly half way between where I-265 intersects with I-65 and then I-64. Traffic goes WFO through there.... So 75+ mph traffic with merging 40 mph traffic. And Louisville drivers are among the worst I've ever encountered.

A similar thing happened here not too long ago where someone with their seatbelt on still got ejected.

Single vehicle wreck from trying to avoid tire on road. Ejected. No other injuries or vehicles involved.
    Possibly preventable.

    It happens.

I was in a wreck in 1997 where I was hit by a garbage truck that ran a redlight. I was NOT wearing a seatbelt, which is very unlike me....I ended up in the passenger seat ('92 Ford Ranger w/bucket seats) Steering column went through drivers seat. I got a $25 ticket for not wearing the seat belt. Law had been in effect for less than a month. I offered to pay it twice....
