So true. With the driving I do, I have never driven anything I like as much as the Tundra with Tow/haul engaged.

That is about what I expected. Glad to have some confirmation. Though, I will not be able to afford Kings anytime soon.

Ditto. I'm averaging 16.5-17 mpg in my 5.7 4wd Tundra, I was getting 18ish with the Taco. Just had 20 sheets of OSB and two 48"x48" windows in the bed yesterday. Towed my 7400lb tractor and trailer to Mass a couple of weeks ago. The rewards far outweigh the small loss of gas mileage. Plus the 38 gallon tank is awesome, "430 miles to empty" when I top off (allegedly)..

The whining about gas mileage drives me up a wall. Go buy a damned Prius. My 1/2 ton chevy for work gets 19-ish mpg and at 60k miles just had over $4k in starter/alternator/wiring harness repairs for no good reason other than it's a piece of shit. That's the third time in it's 3 year lifespan that it's been in for over $3k in repairs.

Interesting. What do you miss about the taco? The Tundra can be a bit of a bear to drive in town.

    Add me to this group...

I never really enjoyed the Taco, dog of a motor, trans constantly hunting for the wrong gear, and getting only 18 mpg on stock hiway tires and no lift?

The Tundra is night/day difference. 381hp/401tq and hasn't once hunted for a gear, it just goes and the 5.7L sounds good even with OEM exhaust but knowing me that won't be on there long.

Assuming you had a 4 cyl?
18 isnt horrible for the 4.0.
Dog motor? what were you expecting out of a midsize pickup?
But yes, the Tundra is definitely a night/day difference in every way

I got 27.5mpg on a 120 mile drive in my 3rd gen taco the other day. 90% highway but there was a couple traffic jams in there.

Congrats and good call on the full bed. The CM payload is pretty pathetic. And I need to take lessons from you guys on the mpg, lol.

What are you Tundra owners using for engine oil?

    Mobile 1?
    Anzoil?
    Castroil?
    Vulvaline?

Can’t fault you, I had a Tundra for a while, loved it, I just kept hitting things with side. Long wheel base.
