I have a 2017 Tacoma Off Road. I purchased these lights and installed them as fog lights:
    https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/Toyota-Tacoma-Tundra-4Runner-Squadron-Sport-Amber-WC.asp

So far, I love them!! However I actually meant to purchase the street legal versions of these amber fog lights. I’m wondering whether the lights I did purchase above have mounts where I could install them as ditch lights - my plan would be to do that and then purchase the street legal amber lights

    Thanks!

    Nice. Welcome.

I mean you could if you found a correct mount. As they are set now, they are not set up for that application.

If you purchase the non-vehicle specific SAE kit, you can swap the mounting components so that the SAE lights have the fog mounts and the Sport lights have standard mounts you can utilize for a ditch mount:

You can see all the performance comparisons in this thread, the Baja SAE lights are not great for the money compared to the Diode Dynamics alternatives. See the reviews linked at the top. However, Baja is developing a 2nd Generation SAE light, and has said they will upgrade those that have the current SAE product free of charge.

You should buy Pros for your ditch lights!

Street legal is boring. All the best dark spots are offroad..

Ok cool thanks for the advice! I was wondering whether the mounting options would be swappable between setting the current WC lights i have onto the non-vehicle specific mounts - that way I would just do what you said and buy those ones non specific SAE lights, mount the mounts with the WC ones I currently have and then mount the new SAEs as the fog lights. My concern was that the SAE lights wouldn’t have the proper mounting points for the actual mounts in the Tacoma’s fog light housing. I may pull one fog light out later to double check...

I really considered the Pros or even some KCs! However I live near mountains where they are covered in snow a lot and I drive on the highway a lot too so I would love street legal lights I can use through the snow without blinding everyone else on the highway.
Also not sure if it’s the lighting or if your Prinsu is actually silver but that looks sick haha

I use Sport/Combo/Yellow in the fog pockets and then Pro/Spot/Yellow on the ditch mounts.
Everything is triggered by the highbeam circuit, so they are driving lights, only on with the highbeams..

I drive all winter on snowy backroads, yellow helps a lot. I'd never hit anyone with these lights though - -they are very very bright.

ps, Prinsu group buy back in the day- Zach sold some raw aluminum racks..

I use Squadron Pros in the Clear WC pattern as my ditch lights. Love em.

If I were in your position I would use those as ditch lights and get a set of Diode Dynamics SS3 SAE Yellow Fog lights, pick your poison between the Sport, Pro and Max.

You’ll just need to get the ditch light brackets of your choice and the universal mounting brackets from Baja Designs, they all share the same body so all their mounts work as long as it’s for your model of light. The Baja designs in SAE are quite dismal. Your stock fog lights are better. The DD SS3’s can’t be beat. The only one that comes close is Rigid. But the DD SS3’s are by far the best bang for the buck, extremely high quality and built in the US.
