Ya that square tubing is no joke! aside from the preventing damage they make working on the truck easier and getting unstuck much quicker since it's one giant hi-lift point lol. That has paid for mine just for that purpose

Everything is finally painted. Going to try to do the install Sunday, if anyone wants to help.

A couple injuries later and they're on.

Looks really good! You should really consider 3M grip tape, taped on the top so you (or your passengers) never slip getting in or out... I used the 2" wide stuff. I've been through countless washes and hundreds of ins and outs of the truck and the stuff looks like it did when I put it on. I also put it on the support bars that go from the main bar to the outside bar to keep the rock chipping to a minimum since those areas got hit hardest with kickup from the front tire.

Funny you say that, I was tellin the wife at the gas station last night I was thinking of putting some kind of grip tape on the top surface for better traction when stepping in and out. Where did you get it from, I really want to do the same?

Ya it grips like a mother even on bare legs lol so be carefull with shorts on you dont slide your leg over it getting out! I got mine at Ace Hardware and had them just cut a 10 foot chunk for me. I used a big shears to cut it all pretty. My wife still moans about getting in and out but she's getting used to stepping with the inside foot and then getting out... thats the key.

real nice build, those MT/R's look mean! Lovin that suspension setup too. That stealth winch install is really cool, I knew about them, but don't really see much of it, thats real nice.

Thanks for the compliments. I planned out my build before I bought the truck. Lots of time researching what mods I wanted to do.

The mount was sturdier than I expected and It shakes a little with the tablet mounted, but very little. I had to modify the bracket that mounts to the seat frame, with my weather techs I couldn't get the bolt to thread. Even though I just got the mount yesterday, I'm going to sell it, because I need something stronger that can handle more accessories mounted to it. If anyone is interested let me know.

FedEx delivered the new Ram mount this morning. It is more intrusive to the passenger area than the other mount, but I can customize it more to my needs. This mount was more expensive to the tune of $200. I like having a 10 inch screen now with topo maps for trail navigation. We will see how it works on the trail.

That's pretty bad ass man! Is trimble outdoors a standalone program or where is your tablet getting the GPS from? I've always wanted more functionality than what my Nuvi offers for high rez and map storage but haven't decided on the best way to get it. I can pull real-time GPS off my Nuvi through DNRGarmin on my laptop or a tablet like you have i spose.

Yes it's a stand alone GPS program I downloaded from the app store. It will work offline without a wifi or cell reception, all you have to do is download the maps you want to use prior. With my S3 I can turn it into a wifi hotspot so my Galaxy tab2 can operate on wifi signal as long as I have cell reception. Navigating with topo maps on a 10 inch screen is awesome and being able to go online anywhere without lugging around a laptop is so convenient, I recommend it if you have one or plan to buy a tablet. There's a bluetooth GPS receiver I plan to buy from Amazon, so I don't have to download maps like a GNS 5870 MFI GPS receiver, or a Garmin GLO protable GPS receiver.

It was a lot of fun, up until I lost my portable air compressor out of the bed. Now I'm exploring on board air options.

Check out Co2 options. After how easy it was setting up my own nitrogen tank for my shocks i'll probably get a co2 setup one of these days from the local welding supply shop.

Finally installed my new DMZ Stainless braided brake lines today at the shop. These lines are great, I've notice a significant difference in brake pedal pressure resulting in shorter stopping distance and more confidence in the brakes. Tim has applications for stock Tacoma's, 4Runner's, FJ's and first gen Tundra's. The lines are also available for mid travel and long travel applications and they are D.O.T. approved. Contact Tim for pricing (951)371-8500.

    Now for the install pics:

Looks nice man. I think that was my least favorite mod to do... Mine got messy cuz nothing wanted to fit well. Looks like the DMZ lines were nice to install

When you have the right tools and advice, yes it's easier. 10mm line wrench and a 17mm open ended wrench along with a 12mm made it easy to do the rear. For the rear I cracked the fittings lose with the 10mm line wrench before removing the bracket from the frame rail so I could remove the clips. Removal and install was easy after that. The line wrench was a must to stop the fittings from getting rounded. Only modification I needed to do was to arch the clips a little more. The end fittings on the line are larger and have a wider groove in them, so to make the clips snug I had to put a little more arch in them. The rear lines are longer so now I'm ready for the custom Deaver leaf pack I'm getting.
