Jacked up my bumper today on the trail, so it's time to get a Pelfrey! It's hard to see, but the bumper shifted up on the passenger side and is pulled down on the drivers side. There's a noticeable gap under the grille on the driverside.

Sliders have paid for themselves four times over.

Nice truck, too bad you're gonna lose the stock bumper! Did it look possible to modify the undercover winch so that the fairlead comes out in the middle of the bumper air gap? It seems like an oversight that it does not.

Install is done!!! These were by far the worst mod installation yet. Lots of grinding, rivets didn't want to come out easy and the holes in the frame didn't match up with the holes in the brackets, so I had to use a round file to open up the holes in the frame in order to get the bolts in and the bumps didn't want to just slide into the cans with ease. If I removed my leaf packs it might have been easier, but I was lazy and on a time crunch to get these done. Anyway here's some photos, time to go sleep before I have to go into work tonight.

I easily gained back the 4-5 inches of travel I lost with the Deaver leaf packs and Timbren bumps. At ride height I have about 2-2.5 inches of space between the bumps and the strike pads and another 2 inches of travel to full bump. Can't wait to test them out.

I'm not looking at it that way, I'm getting an awesome bumper that's going to perform and make my truck look badass. For the hidden winch mount you could probably cut the oval hole for the winch line higher and elongate the holes for the hawse fairlead to get it to be in the center of the air dam. When I get my bumper I'm going to include the lower air dam when I sell the hidden winch mount, that way the buyer won't have to cut up theirs. Would need to be lightly sanded and then replasti-dipped.

So far it's a drastic improvement on the street. The Timbren's were about half an inch to an inch away from the frame so they would engage too soon not allowing the suspension to cycle smoothly, causing the rear to buck instead of absorbing the impact. With the extra clearance and stroke of the hydrolic bump stop it feels like the rear is cycling smother without being interrupted by the impact of conventional bump stops.

I'm jealous of your build so I subscribed to your thread for future ideas and info. I currently have a stock 08 DCSB SR5 model, but have been saving (almost there) for a new 14 TRD O/R in same body style and I wanted a white one as well! However another reason I've been saving is to put a TRD supercharger on it right away as well. I hope you don't beat me to that mod before I get mine completed!

Thanks, it's been interesting building it and a lot of thought and research went into the build. I don't think I will ever supercharge, I think it's just too much stress on the motor and really isn't necessary offroad crawling on a trail. My truck is plenty fast for me and if I need more speed and power I'll buy a sports car.

Make sure you flex it out fully and look at what's bumping out first, shock or bump. I watched a setup exactly the same as yours bottom the shock out way before the bump was fully compressed... Scarrrry!

The bumps bottom out, there's plenty of shock shaft showing when the bumps are fully compressed.

I think what you probably saw was a setup with oem springs and aal's without the spacer collar. Without the collar the shocks would fully compress before the bump would.

Hmm and they were Icon bumps, not king or fox? Also wonder if yhe person was running a longer shock? The collar, or spacer is a 1/2 inch ring that goes on between the mounting can and the bump. It basically drops the bump down about half an inch.
