So I'm impressed with the BakFlip MX4 washed the truck a few times
sprayed down the cover and water in the bed was minimal, real minimal.

However it would be swell if the raid-tube would fit into that little and
I mean little hole. Really don't want to take a drill bit and open that up
although I guess it wouldn't really hurt that much ( or would it )...

Otherwise some kind of reducer would be cool -

Any of you folks do anything along these lines?

Most people drill an additional hole for each hose from the tonneau cover. Be careful where you drill on the driver side as many people have nicked the fuel line. Some people prefer to drill on the bed floor, next to the existing drain hole. Others drill on the bed wall.

Shouldn't impact the strength of your bed.

I have a rubber bed mat and just put the tube under the mat - eventually the water either evaporates or makes its way to the tailgate (under the mat) and everything stays pretty dry.

I used a brass fitting that fit the existing hole in the bed. There is a thread around here somewhere that I got the idea from.

I drilled holes in the front of the bed a few inches down from the bottom of the drain and ran it out between the bed and cab. I have a bed mat so the floor wasn’t an option and I wanted to keep the hoses as short as possible so they wouldn’t get snagged and pulled out by stuff in the bed.

I drilled bigger holes carefully to make them fit. Then drilled another smaller hole next to each so the bed could drain out easier.

I used a step bit, I would recommend using one of those.

I never installed mine … whatever water drains into the bed just runs under the bed mat and out the tailgate area.

It’s a composite bed I think your good with no drain hose dont run one with my Lomax. Very little water gets in what does runs under my bed mat and evaporates or runs out the back haven’t had any issues.

I used a step drill bit to enlarge the three drain holes. They were so small in original form that the smallest leaf, stick etc would clog them up and not drain. End result was a lot of wet organic material that would take forever to dry out.

I purchased these brass fittings from Home Depot, easy peasy.

Just installed BAKFLIP MX4 on 2023 Tacoma...now for the drain holes...what exactly is the purpose of the BAK FLIP drain hose? Where is water (on top) getting into the hose? I had a small 1/2 CM hole on both sides at the bulkhead, so put rubber pieces there to seal, but now I'm thinking about it. I guess I will use a brass adaptor if I connect the BAK FLIP hose, but worried about other water getting in and no drain holes. Makes me think, as some have said, that I should leave the Tacoma holes as is, and drill news ones for the hose. On another issue, I think the Toyota supplemental install sheet is wrong, in that it has you install the bulkhear weather strip, but I didn't because it would not allow a snug fit. The BAK official youtube video, the guy says not needed.

No money, all went to truck...
I used a step bit and drilled into the top of the wheel well. Then the hose just drops straight down.
