BAKFlip MX4

Hey, Reviving and old thread here.

Was looking at the MX4 vs the Undercover Ultra Flex. Big plus for the MX4 was it still allowed use of the side rails. However it looks like this has changed with a new updated design?

Interesting. I like the new side rails. Easier for me throw on bed bars.

 

NVM they made a mistake and put the 2nd gen instructions in with the 3rd gens.

 

$100 Rebate on the MX4 going on now (Nov22 - Dec15)

 

With rebate, I was able to get it down to $711. Not too bad.

Hey @Admiral_Akbar and @BadgerBoy797 , I'm hoping to grab an MX4 for my 2019 taco. I'm wondering how you're liking it so far?

 

Have not purchased one yet. 90% certain I will pull the trigger tomorrow. The online merchants have some good Black Friday deals going on, and you also get the $100 rebate from BAKFlip.

Will call around to a couple more of the merchants that are on this forum to get the best deal.

Hello @Admiral_Akbar and @BadgerBoy797 , may I ask who or where did you get the MX4 from? $711 sounds like a super good deal. I am looking at Amazon and it is around $900 before tax. Even with rebate, it is still around $870 out of the door.

 

I ordered my MX4 from autoanything.com on 12/3/19 and got it for $803.00 + shipping. Salesperson gave me an additional discount thru the chat option. Call or chat online while ordering, additional deals might be available.

It took me 3 hours to install because 2 of the torx screw heads got stripped while removing the forward rail.

 

I missed the deal. I checked with them today and the best they can do is $900 out of the door + free shipping. You still get the $100 rebate though, which takes it down to $800. Not sure about return/exchange service with autoanything if the cover doesn't fit right to my taco or something missing.

Eventually I placed an order on Amazon.com and they were selling it $900 there before tax, total ~$970 out of the door with free prime shipping. If anything wrong with the cover I can free return or exchange.

Thanks for posting this. I'm hoping I can fit my old Demetic CFX-35 under the cover. It would be nice to fit it on a fridge slide also. Anyone have any experience with this?

 

i'm also on the market for a fridge. 18.5 is around the lowest profile I find out there. Not sure if there's anyway to cut the bed mat and trim the bed cover to make it possibly fit. I don't foresee any way to make it work with a fridge slide.

 

Reviving a thread. When the backflip is folded vertically and propped up, where do the rubber bumpers rest? I’ve been trying to find pictures, but couldn’t find anything

 

I placed the two “outside” bumpers 2” from the edge. These rest against the rear of the cab. I centered remaining rubber so that it also protects the cab/glass area.

 

It comes with several feet of adhesive rubber cushion. You apply it wherever cover would contact cab.
